Lots of great places to see in Munnar
1) Rose Garden : A well-maintained botanical garden, with plenty of plants, including some rare plants. Great place to take . Entry fee : Rs.10/- Rs.20/- for camera
2) Matupetty Dam : Another good spot to take photos and enjoy the river. A major attraction is boating – a speed boat ride (Rs.350/-) on the river is a must.
3) Kundala Lake : is another pleasant spot and it is a picnic spot. You can opt for row boating or pedal boating here. .
4) Echo point : Tourists scream their lungs out to hear their voice come back at them. There is also a beautiful lake with pedal boating.
5) Top Station : is located on the Kerala-TN border. You need to walk uphill to reach the entry point. From there you take a ticket (Rs.15/-) and walk around ¼ kms downhill to reach a viewing platform, from where you can get a wonderful view of the hills of Tamil Nadu. But once you finish, the climb uphill will sap your energy. Not recommended for those with BP/heart problems.
6) Eravikulam National Park : You can go if you want to see the Tahr (mountain goat).
7) Waterfalls : Lots of waterfalls – there are two waterfalls on the way to Munnar, which are a great opportunity for photo shoots. Another waterfall not to miss is the Chinnanakal waterfalls, on the Madurai road.
Rheinberg homestay in Munnar is one of the best places at around 1200-1500 tariff. There are many resorts like Camp Noel, Blackberrys, etc which are on the higher side.

I think Deepak has covered most of the places. you can also visit Tata Tea Musuem Which explains process of tea Manufacturing. Also if you have time you can visit Muniyaara, Sandalwood forest & chinnar wild life sanctuary which might give you chance to see elephant in wild.
If your budget permit you can stay atleast one night at Nature Zone Tree top House.Very good experience and great place.

Hi Manasa,
As said by Chirag , Deepak covered most of the places. We stayed at Chinamakkal instead of proper Munnar town. It happened by chance but it was a life time experience. We stayed at Chancellor's AYUR COUNTY. Other few good places i know around are MAHINDRA HOLIDAY's..... & STERLING ..... Location is so strategic that u get 270* view with Hills , Valleys, Tea planatation, Canal, Water falls and what not.... ( i can share the photographs... if u can write to [Moderator-This email id is hidden. Click here to send a message to this user.]) Though it is 20+ km away from Munnar still worth staying there. Enroute to Chinamakkal itself is great watch. BTW if you are coming from Madurai it is nearer than munnar. Also dont miss out SPICE village -15 min drive Ayur county. Spices are 20% of the cost we can get our places.
Happy Holidaying......... Thnx Raju

Since every place worth a visit is mentioned in the above list I would just like to add a place not to visit. Carmelagiri Elephant Park is the place which charges hefty for a small ride of hardly 10 minutes. Its like exploitation and there is some tie ups will all the resorts/hotels in and around munnar. They would definitely take you there and you would be tempted for a ride... But infact they take you for a ride
.
Just ot add Lockhart view point is a good place to be just added since it was not there in the list above.

Hello.
As per Munnar sight seing is concerned, there are four sides.
1. Cochin side: The places of interest are Blossom park, Pothamedu view point
2. Mattupetty side: Places of interest are Nursery, Tea garden photo point, Mattupetty dam, Film shooting point, honey bee tree, Kundala lake / dam, Top station.
3. Madurai / Thekkaddy side: Devikulam, Lock heart gap, Vast tea garden of Malayalam harrison, Periyakanal water falls, Anariyankal dam, etc.
4. Coimbatore side: Eravikulam National Park, Anaimudi peak view, Tea factory museum, Lackam water falls, Marayur sandle wood forest
Each side takes half day. Os, a toal two days are required for sight seing. If you are traveling to Thekkaddy from Munnar, then you can see the Thakkaddy side on the way to Thekkaddy.
You can take taxi, jeep or auto for sight seing. If you are travelling from nearby place of Munnar, then take the taxi from there itself. They will operate per kilometer.
Regarding hotels:
There are so many hotels in Munnar. Among expansive hotels, some examples are Mahindra resort, Tea county, Ayur county, etc.
Among budget hotels, you can see SMM cottage, Misha tourist home, SN tourist home, SN Sujatha Inn, SN Annex.
You can find some more information in the internet too.

Manasa,
There are lot of good hotels in Munnar and you can choose the one according to your budget.
Apart from this, there are higher end hotels such as sterlings resorts , Camp Noel etc.
Hope you got reply for the places to visit from some of the post here. Along with that, You Must go for jeep safari to World's Highest Tea Garden and Visit the Tea Factory and have a good hot Tea! Its a great experience. No doubt.
Few hotels and operators give this service as it is a private estate and entry is restricted.
Happy Journey!!!
