hello everyone.
i m planning a trip to vaishnodevi, srinagar, shimla, manali. i will come to jammu by train and then katra by bus. after doing vaishnodevi trip, went to srinagar by bus. sightseeing in srinagar. then srinagar to jammu by bus, jammu to chandigarh by bus and chandigarh to shimla by car or toy train. after shimla, went to manali by bus. we are 6 people coming in may. so i need some advise. i think i should go to leh also. can i go to leh from srinagar by flight. i have heard that there r some problems in flight like altitude sickness, bleeding of blood from nose.
can i go to manali from leh by car in 1 day? how many days should i spend in srinagar,shimla,manali,leh. i need some advise about this trip. please reply.

Dear Pushpam,
My advise is 1st Trip u go to leh by flight ( enjoy in leh minimum 3 days ) 2nd Trip u go to srinagar on 3 days trip via SUV / Cars ( best seen in srinagar Dal lake , gulmarg rop way/ ice skates & pehelgaon in rafting zone / betab valley / chandbadi ice glashiur ) . 3rd Trip u go to Jammu/ Katra ( vaishno devi ) by SUV / CAR Aprox time 10 : 00 hours OR FLIGHT 1 : 00 hour.
Hope u are too tired after n all vaishno devi dershan.
Best u take a rest in jammu & then u go to raghunath temple in jammu.

4rt Trip u go to Amritsar , Punjab ( Golden tample / Wagha border / jaliawala bagh ) time approx 6- 7 hours via SUV / CAR ( Stay 2 days ).
5th Trip u go to Manali H.P from ( Amritsar - pathankoat - sundernagar - manali ) time approx 8:00 HOURS VIA SUV / CAR.
( MANALI SPECIAL IN ROHTANG PASS ) & THEN U GO TO HOME ( SWEET HOME ).
TOTAL TOUR DAYS 10-11 DAYS.

First of all, the itinerary seems to be quite wayward and hectic.Jammu to Katra (48kms) is fine. Jammu to Srinagar (305 km) takes about 12 hours.Jammu to Chandigarh (436 km), Chandigarh to Simla (120 km). The toy train you are talking about starts from Kalka.Simla to Manali (about 260 km), a journey of over 6 hours. I would advice you to either stick to Jammu-Katra-Srinagar-Leh OR Jammu-Katra-Simal-Manali.

Manali to Leh will take 2 days with a night haltage midway. Road condition as well as duration of the journey is unpredictable.

Sringar to Leh flight is available. You should spend ond full day at Leh to acclimarise youeself before proceeding to Khardungla or Pangong Lake.
