Golden Sun and Beach Resort Reviews

had been to Golden Sun Hotel and Beach Resort from Dec 22 to Dec 24, 2007. Initially I had taken a Cottage, but once enetering the cottage I had to rush back to the receiption asking for a change of room since the room was stinking, toilets was blocked. Then I took a Suite, for 3300 per day plus taxes, the room was spaciuos, again the toilets had problems. Worst was the service, I had to make 4 calls in a span of 2 hours to get towels in the room (they never provided a soap nor shampoo), the room service was pathetic (I do not have any other word to describe). No breakfast included in the package, so you need to shell out about Rs 100 per head for a breakfast. The food was kind of good, but I would never want to visit this place again in my life. I had read the other posting, but never took it seriuosly, but after going there I got to understand what they really meant. You have guys asking you directly on your face for TIPS... Bad Service and Bad attitude of the staff.

Best Experience: Food and the Swimming Pool

Worst Experience: Everything else like Service, attitude of the Staff etc.

location & destination is very good as it is at beach . seaside beach is very enjoying & had pleasent time on beach with friends playing games, walking,dancing,relaxing & going in sea water & sona pe suhga we had cloudyweather with rainfall so we enjoyed a lot on the beach on 11 february 2007 .

Was the lousiest of vacations I have ever been to on the ECR(East Coast Road).

Best Experience: Well loads to mention. Let me go point by point. 1 - Made to wait at the reception even though we had a confirmed booking. 2 - These people con you to the max. They say they have sea facing cottages. Utter non-sense because there exists only 2 cottages which is in 1 corner of the resort and the place is shabby. 3 - We dint like Deluxe Sea Facing A/C ( well no view of the sea) and hence opted for the Executive Room A/c which is on the 1st floor.Hoping that we would settle down there , pacifying our souls ooh yeah you can hear the sea at least. This was the only other room available with them. Surprisingly the place is dirtier than the Deluxe Sea Facing room. The toilets are the worst you can find. Trust me the public toilets in my city are cleaner than these and these folks have the adocity to call this room the Executive Room. LOL. 4 - Whats the idea behind sharing your room with Cockroaches ? Place needs a lot of cleaning Hygeinically. 5 - The staff, these people lurk around you unless you tip them. Haa whatta way of service. I have travelled far and wide and never seen any of the room service people or staff lurking around you for tips. Pathetic. 6 - Food prices are exorbitant, what do these people think ? they can con anyone in town?A bottle of mineral water is 30 bucks?? I stay in Taj i would have been charged something like this , can accept because they take the pain to maintain high standards. 7 - Water provided in the rooms are salty. Yukkk can you imagine you wanna have a bath after playing in the sea and you get the same salty water? How is that other resorts in the same vicinity provide un-salinated water? Any pointers? The list in never ending and trust me, they know nothing of cleanliness and service. I some how lived thru this place for a night and early next morning packed off to another resort close which had better service. All in all, dont even think of going to this resort for the next couple of years because frankly I never saw them any close to getting better in the near future. People anyone looking for a nice relaxed holiday dont even get any close to this resort because it aint worth your money and time.

Worst Experience: Finding cockroaches in the room at 2 am and the pathetic state of the bathrooms.

We had a great time at Golden Sun. The service was extraordinary. We had a fantastic time at the beach. It was great value for money

Best Experience: The staff were very courteous. Support at the beach was outstanding

Worst Experience: Eventhough special efforts were taken to make good food for us, the food quality could have been better

All in all a budget resort. I still wouldnt say its entirely paisa-wasool but then its good enough.
