Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Explore Gangtok

Our travel group meets around 3:00 pm at Bagdogra airport and from there, we start our journey to Gangtok (5500 Ft / 130 Kms / 04 to 05 hrs) Throughout the journey, we will basically meander through the river route that Teesta has carved for all its lovers. She is green and dirty here! Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.
Day 2

GANGTOK - TSHANGU LAKE

We head out to the bare hills, bluest of blue skies and white puffy clouds today towards the Tshangu Lake. Is Tshangu (also referred as Tsongmo or Changu) lake as beautiful as Pangong Tso in Leh? We will find that out today. The skies and the hill drops appear similar to Pangong but colours somewhat vary. Close to Indo – China border, this oval beauty does deserve some poetry. Perhaps for most of us, the treat for the day would be the drive itself, with views of chocolate hills with vanilla dusting and mountains changing their shapes and colours at every turn. Trust us, you wouldn't want to miss a single view along the drive. We also recommend a Yak safari by the lake to enjoy the views better. We next visit Baba Mandir (13100Ft / 3994 Mts / 16Kms - 1Hr one way from Tshangu Lake). Baba Mandir was made in memory of a Jawan. Eager to know how this Mandir was built? We will tell you the whole story during the tour! Important Notes: In case of a landslide or due to any other reasons if Tshangu Lake is closed, then an alternate sightseeing will be provided. Always remember that this is a high altitude region and you need to take it slow and steady and drink loads of water (we can teach you a technique for country shooting, so no worries!).Day 2 Optional Tour - Nathula PassNathula Pass (14140 Ft / 4310 Mts / 20 Kms - 1Hr one way from Tshangu Lake), is at the Indo-Chinese Border and travellers require permit to visit this area. The permits are allocated based on a lottery system and cannot be guaranteed in advance. Please check with us for documentation needed to process the permits. Even if permits are issued, in the unfortunate events of road blocks etc., there could be last minute cancellations. Unfortunately in such cases, money will not be reimbursed. The price of this additional tour varies from month to month and we will be able to advise you a budget only before our departure. We head back to Gangtok. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3

GANGTOK – LACHUNG

We start very early today to the beautiful hamlet of Lachung. Packed breakfast on the way. The beautiful views compensate for the terribly bad roads as we slither around the hillocks to reach our hotel by late afternoon.Situated at the lap of Yumthang valley, Lachung is one of the most picturesque villages in Sikkim. This is the ideal place to lose yourself to nature, its rejuvenating surroundings, sparkling streams and waterfalls.Attractions on the way are Tashi view point, where you could take another glimpse of the mighty Kanchenjunga (only if clouds permit!) and Seven Sister’s water fall. Lunch en route.Overnight stay at Hotel in Lachung
Day 4

LACHUNG - YUMTHANG – LACHUNG

Yumthang Valley, popularly known as the ‘Valley of flowers’ of Sikkim is situated at a height of 11,800 ft. Watch yaks graze the slopes of the grassy planes as a tributary of Teesta River slithers along slowly. Take a stroll by the river, take in the views and soak in some of the most beautiful views that you will ever see by the lap of the mighty Himalayas. Rejoice the sights and rejuvenate your city nerves with some nature therapy! We start very early today to the beautiful hamlet of Lachung. Packed breakfast on the way.
