While organized group tours by tourist companies and tour operators have achieved a remarkable status, in India and world over as well, a new trend of get-together of groups of families and/or friends is being set in the society adding an additional dimension to tourism. People are finding that it is more essential to rejuvenate with leisure and pleasure while entangled with a busy lifestyle, as a prominent feature of present.

Apart from simply excursion and tourism, people mostly the groups of Families and/or Friends, do opt for spending few days with undisturbed privacy in the vicinity of nature coupled together with a casual excursion and tourism. Rather it is a craving need of every group of families and/or friends. Therefore people are hunting for such locations.

Probably you may not find the name of Pooja Farm HouseŁ, amongst many famous and star hotels in and around Mahabaleshwar. Its features may neither be found in the tourist directory of Mahabaleshwar nor on the web pages. It attracts not the tourists but the Family GroupsŁ only through mouth publicity. Probably a small group may find this Farm House as a location isolated from the town but, it is certainly ideal for Family Groups of size of a few dozens. In a way, the Farm House/Resort is little isolated from the beautiful CROWDY tourist place of Mahabaleshwar, which perfectly suits to a group interested in excursion as well as undisturbed privacy in the vicinity of nature. This enables the family groups to extract the enjoyment of undisturbed togetherness to fullest possible extent.

The Pooja Farm House/ Resort is just few hundred meters away from the Mahabaleshwar-Tapola Road, at a distance of 11 km from Mahabaleshwar, like in the outskirts or a little outside the town. Traffic of vehicles on this road is comparatively much less than the roads leading to Panchgani-Pune or Mahad-Mumbai, from where most of the tourists rush to Mahabaleshwar. Moreover you are in the close proximity of the town while being in the Pooja Farm House/Resort.

The Resort sits amidst lush green surrounding on the slope of a mountain range off the Mahabaleshwar town enhancing the feeling of isolation. However, it exhibits a beautiful view of a valley extended for few tens of kilometres with a distant water reservoir on the down side and a lush green steep mountain on the up side. This awful location assures your privacy from the crowd on the road and the town while you are in the cloudy atmosphere in rainy and winter seasons making it an abode like.

The Farm House is situated on a piece of land, approximately measuring to about half an acre. There are four double bedrooms, two on ground and two on the upper floor, one triple bedroom, slightly away and two dormitories - each of 25 beds, immediately facing the valley assuring accommodation of 60+ beds. Very prominent feature of the Farm House/Resort is the ultra cleanliness in the premises including dining area, kitchen and entire surrounding i. e. Small play ground, lawn, dormitory terrace and children's play area. The open area with rough maroon tiles flooring, approx. 25-30 square feet is ideal for playing even during heavy rains or gana-bajana around a fireplace, in winters. In addition to it the children play area, lawn area and the terrace of one dormitory are big enough for group activities of contemporary subgroups of the gathering, making these zones free from encroachment by other subgroups amongst themselves providing an undisturbed open privacy for every group.

A swing on a big enough platform on the valley side assures leisure and pleasure in heavy rains and chilled winters. A Gazebo, a big green umbrella, adjacent to the valley side is simply marvellous, particularly for dim light dinner. The big dining hall with one side fully open can accommodate the groups for dining. Few small groups can enjoy dining on the stone built sit outs under trees.

Last but not the least, all the the food preparations, both veg and non-veg, food items like sandwiches, omelet, chicken, parathas, vegetables, dal, khir etc. Are remarkably excellent and tasty. The canteen services are excellent and room is satisfactory. There is no pool and gym facility.

The most practical routine the stay at the Farm House could be : Having a morning tea near kitchen, under Gazebo or on the swing followed by tasty heavy breakfast and then going for a half/full day outing to Tapola ( boating facility in the backwaters of Koyna Reservoir, extended over several kilometres) or spending the full day exploring the scenic beauty of Mahabaleshwar and surrounding, skipping the lunch in the Farm House. You can have a tasty and leisurely lunch in any hotel amid the market place. Again explore few points leisurely in the afternoon and joy of being in the small and crowded marketplace of Mahabaleshwar in the evening, either doing window shopping or real purchasing of mainly a variety of clothing while leisurely sipping coffee/juices or eating ice cream including Chana and Futana of various ( about a dozen ) tests, in particular. There is a great joy in eating the lush red juicy strawberries of Mahabaleshwar. They can be eaten at any time, particularly in winter and consumed in any quantity in the healthy winters.

To explore the full joy of your stay you can return the Farm House/Resort, just after sunset and enjoy the tasty dinner and post dinner entertaining activities. There is no TV in the rooms and the mobile signals being week, you really can enjoy of being isolated and undisturbed in true sense however the land line telephone assures you the connection with rest of the world. These days Mahabaleshwar is really a CROWDED place and OVERCROWDED by four wheelers throughout the year, all the time keeping the place on the season and never off season. I therefore strongly recommend that you can optimize your pleasure during July to January and leisure by extending your stay for just less than a week, at a least known Pooja Farm House/Resort, just in the outer skirt of Mahabaleshwar. During your stay in the Pooja Farm House/Resort of Mahabaleshwar, all the while you have a feeling that the entire beautiful premises is a PRIVATE PROPERTY OF THE GROUP and NOBODY ELSE, creates a feeling of being in the abode. Though the Pooja Farm House is not a star category of hotel I would again like to stay there for its cleanliness and enjoying the leisure and pleasure by remaining in the GROUP of Families and/or Friends.

I have visited to Pooja farm resort Maharashtra in month of march along with my office freinds. All of us enjoy this stay. We got good food along with great service. We got helping staff also. Hotel environment was good. This hotel give us pleasant play at evening time. We all preferred this hotel to stay back during our office picnic. We visited this hotel multiple time. Our office colleagues also prefer this hotel.

We were six adults with one child travelling for a weekend getaway. We booked a cottage that accommodates six and is not on the river bank unlike the Aqua cottages. The reception desk was alright and we made the balance payment at check-in. As soon as we arrived the property looked quite appealing and interesting, and we were just dying to look. We went to the cottage given to us which was the worst experience of the entire stay. The beds in the cottage were made, but they were full of lizard droppings and cobwebs on the wooden walls. I don't think the linen was washed either as well as the pillow covers. We were glad that we carried our own bed sheets. However the bathroom was clean enough. To make matters worse it started pouring and water started dripping in our cottage all over so, we changed the cottage but it was no better. The food is simple and tasty, don't expect too much variety. Just regular roti sabji and dal rice with salad and pickles. The river nearby is beautiful and quite a sight. As it rained all through our trip we could not do much but were holed up in our cottage. Overall an ok experience. Will not go back again!!!!

The rooms were air conditioned and were facing the lake. They were very clean and peaceful. In fact in the evening it was too quiet, we sat in the park area. The indoor games were well maintained. There was a small water fountain, but was non functional. Pool was the area they lacked as it was muddy. Food was good, so was the staff.

A nice place with good food. It was a nice stay with my friends. I like the garden area. Staff and room services were good enough.
