Beautiful Garden, Rooms are clean, foods are tasty

Best Experience: My wife & me went to ?Rater Tara Diner Rabi? Guesthouse during Poush Mela 2010, we stayed 4 nights and enjoyed a lot moving around the locality of Fuldanga (of course beautiful university campus including Kola Bhavan, Uttarayan compound & Bichitra Bhavan) where writer Sunil Ganguli, singer Argha Sen, famous Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Hemen Deb, writer Dr. Buddhadeb Guha (Shyambati), ex Kolkata Police Commissioner Tushur Talukder, ex Speaker of Lokshabha Somnath Chatterjee (Goalpara) and many other personalities are reside.
This year, 150 birth anniversary of Tagore, Pous Mela was simply fascinating, we enjoyed Boul Music, Folk Songs & Dance, Adibasi Programmes, Raibese, Kobi Gan, Chhou Dance, Jatra at mid night, Opening prayer at Chatimtala on 23 December at 7.30am, Fire works on 24 December evening, X-Mass Programme at Prayer Hall on 25 December evening, Joint Programme of Boul & Fakir, Ranopa Dance and many more.
The locality, where guesthouse is situated, is very close to University campus, but in spite of that the entire area is green, calm & quiet and free from pollution. We used to walk every morning and went up to Taltore Village and Prantik Township in one side and up to Kopai River & Ballavpur Forest and Deer Park along the Khoai on the red moram road in other side. We strolled like birds and performed dance & sang Rabindra Sangeet all through the red morum road, which we will never forget in our life. Thanks to Guesthouse authority for developing such a wonderful Guesthouse very near to University campus but within natural beauties.
Room in ground floor, where we stayed, was very clean, nicely decorated and furnished by local cane furniture. Portrait of Tagore placed on the room wall and other hand made pictures crafted on the boundary walls from Sahoj Path are, in one word, incredible.
We got meals and breakfast like home made preparation and we eat sufficient quantity all the time. Mutton Kosa during night with chapatti & sliced onions was remembering me the taste of Golbari?s Kosa Meat of Shyambazar five point crossing.
Staffs were cordial and courteous all the time and fulfilled all our demands with smiling face always.
I shall definitely visit again along with my parents to show them Santiniketan staying in this nice Guesthouse and wonderful ambience and recommend strongly to all for availing the benefit of this Guesthouse during their trip to Santiniketan.

Worst Experience: No such experience we got.

The guesthouse is very near to Santiniketan Main Campus and other important places such as Khoai, Handicrafts Fair (Saturday?s Hut), Prantik Township, Shyor Bithi Eco-park, Kopai River & Kankalitala. Entire locality is very clean and covered with big green trees but not in an isolated place and evening Baul songs (on our request it was arranged) given us real taste of Baul culture.
Room was properly cleaned and well maintained, staffs were cordial & well behaved and quality and items of foods were simply praiseworthy. As per me, the prices of food were very reasonable compare to quality and quantity they served. Few Bengali items like Dhoker Dalna, Pui Shrimp, Potato-Jhinge Posto and Beulir Dal were simply very tasty and fascinating beside regular non-vegetarian items.
Lastly, I must praise the taste of the management to decorate the rooms, porch, tiny dinning hall and adjoining beautiful garden maintaining the taste of Santiniketan culture.

Best Experience: At the time of check-out, in our utter surprise, we received a beautiful portrait of Rabindranath Tagore as gift from the guesthouse authority on account of 150 years of birth anniversary of Tagore as we stayed about a week there. I must appreciate the gesture of the management to pay respect to such a personality who has honoured us by dint of his whole life works.

Worst Experience: No such experience I got.

We booked a double bedded room in ?Rater Tara Diner Rabi? Guesthouse in first week of September 2010, we got a decent garden facing room in first floor and we enjoyed a lot sitting on long extended balcony to over view the surroundings, which were simply fascinating.
Room was very clean, well decorated and befitting with the culture of Tagore and Santiniketan. Toilet was very clean and having no bitter smell and dirt.
Food was simply abandoned and very tasty, we booked under American plan so all meals and breakfast was included in the plan cost and we need not put our brain to search the items as it was nicely done by the guesthouse management. We got full course meal in night also and the items like Coli-flower, Gram Dal, Chicken Kosa etc were fantastic along with hand made chapati/fulka.
Behaviour of staff and managerial personnel were courteous and they spoke always very softly with smile in their face.
Before leaving the guesthouse, I took decision that whenever I get time, I shall visit again and again to Santiniketan and I shall only stay here to spend my time homely, peacefully and leisurely.

Best Experience: First time in my life I have taken Dhoker Dalna, my wife and myself asked for more quantity as it was nice in taste and we took all our rice with that single item. Thanks to authority to serve such a palatable item.

Worst Experience: No worst experience we got.

The guest house staff are very decent and soft spoken. They were very helpful and caring. The owner takes personal care of his guests and their well being. The food is excellent.... Total bengali ethnicity and cuisine.. The rooms are spacious with good toilet amenities. The garden is a nice one too.
Overall stay here for a few days away from the din and bustle of city will refresh your senses.

Best Experience: Guest house staff are always helpful about the food and would always suggest us good food in various combination that would suit our platter.

Keep up the good work guys.. You people rock ! !

Very good facilities. Rooms are kept very neat n tidy and maintained well. Its is located very near to Vishwabharati University which is a great plus. The commute (by car) is just 10 mins from the hotel and the roads are paved and nice. Services are just excellent in this hotel and the food served is also great. Overall it is a very good value for money. The Garden overlooking our room was amazing....very well maintained and beautiful. We are certainly going back again next year.

Best Experience: Special attention was given for the kind of food served to us. They included the driver\'s food n stay in our package which was very nice. The owner Mr. Banerjee was very cordial and gave us individual attention. His hospitality is really praiseworthy. We went there on the occasion of 150 years of Tagore\'s Birthday. We were given a special gift by the owner (a portrait of Tagore and a Tagore book) which added a very nice touch to our overall experience.

Worst Experience: None
