I had been to Rater Tara Diner Rabi Guest-house along with my family of 3 heads and taken one double bed, AC with extra mattress at ground floor though I was with the impression that room would be dark and damped with mosquitoes moving around but actually, room was sufficiently airy with adequate lights available throughout the day and rooms are well maintained, superbly cleaned and beautifully decorated.

Generally we moved around Shantiniketan whole day for sightseeing and came back in the evening, got hot tea ready with veg pakoda to relax after hectic tour. Foods were simply fantastic particularly un-common items like Sukto, Bieulir Dal with Alu Postor Tarkari, Dhoker Dalna and Chitol Macher Muittha in other day and we experienced no repetition of any items during our stay for 3 nights. We have tasted delicious Bhapa Hilsa, Doi Vetki and wonderful Tel Koi (fish) was simply outstanding. Same variety of foods in Kolkata we used to pay more amounts in Bhajohari Manna & 36 Ballygunge Palace but in Rater Tara Diner Rabi Guest-house, we felt it very much reasonable.

They are having two cooks namely Prasanta and Pradip, they are simply outstanding for preparing Bengali dishes, we have requested to prepare Pui-chingri and Potoler Dolma on check-out day during lunch and in our utter surprise, they served both the items, which were simply awesome. We personally thank them for keeping our request.

All Staffs were always smiling, placed before us quickly whatever we ordered and we felt homely after getting their services always at our beck and call.

I am a frequent traveler to Santiniketan and I tried almost all the places there but after staying here I have taken decision that henceforth, RTDR Guest House would be my permanent address during my all future visits to Santiniketan.

Best Experience: The garden is well maintained and one may spent his time sitting in the garden.

Worst Experience: No such experience we have encountered.

It’s really a wonderful experience to stay in Rater Tara Diner Rabi Guest House at Santiniketan, room was well maintained with all required facilities; toilet was cleaned and well equipped. Garden in front of the guest-house is well planned, charming and simply wonderful. Bengali cuisines are awesome, very tasty, well blended and we eat much more than our capacity. One must stay in this guesthouse while be in Santiniketan not only for its delicious Bengali dishes but for its ambience.

Staffs are cordial & well behaved and brought whatever we asked for with smiling faces. Me & my wife stayed two nights and enjoyed a lot in calm & quite atmosphere grasping the beauty of the garden as much as was possible. We have never stayed in such a place before, which is surrounded by beautiful roses and so many verities of season flowers.

We didn’t come across any difficulties during our stay at RTDR Guest House. We strongly recommend this guest house to those who preferred to stay in calm & quite and totally pollution free atmosphere, but not far from University Campus and other places of interest.

Best Experience: We enjoyed the garden very much and morning Rabindra Sangeet was excellent.

Worst Experience: No, there was nothing during our stay.

Good. Comfortable family getaway. The Tagore touch in everything wells up submerged cultural ethos.Just walk out to the park nearby or the village just beyond and you just feel happy. Best season is winter, when the whole of Santiniketan is a riot of colours in a bed of flowers and the weather is champagne.

Best Experience: The lawn, the gardening and especially the patio.

Worst Experience: Nothing. We came back with very pleasant memories

Overall experience is excellent, you will get homely environment with well maintained green garden in front. Location is away from the main town, at the bank of a canal. Near to Prantik station.

Best Experience: The property is decorated with memories of Ravindranath Tagore.
