"Excellent location - paradise for..."

Excellent location - paradise for nature lovers. Fantastic views, wonderful cottages and extremely peaceful. The only "crib" that I had about the place - we had to pay hefty sum for entering the "wild life sactuary area" (since the resort is inside the sanctuary) and the sanctuary itself does not have anything worth "watching"! We appreciated the wonderful vegetarian cuisine in the resort and very friendly service. On a clear day we can have a view of snow clad himalayan peaks!
Best Experience: Rare birds captured in our cameras - brain fever bird, Cuckoos, Blue Jays, Wood Peckers...and the list goes on.....
Wonderful nature walk around the resort.....
Cottages in midst of gigantic trees and breath taking views
Worst Experience: Forest department charging for vehicle, per person (for nothing)..:-(

The overall experience at this hotel was simply awesome. I would love to come back here every year with my family to enjoy the sound of silence.
Best Experience: the staff at the hotel was very warm. they ensured that we got the best room and also provided some very good service. the caretaker would always give us company while we were having food in the dining area and shared local folklore as well. Since the hotel was steeped in history therefore, they also had a person narrating the history of the hotel.
Worst Experience: none at all..

"This place was just amazing!..."

This place was just amazing! beautiful, panaromic views, good hospitality and close to nature. We went in November end. On the train from Delhi to Kathgodam, i caught fever. The next day i reached Khali estate shivering and I didn\'t want to stay there a minute. But no option, stayed there. And it turned out to be the best place i have visisted till now! Khali estate has separate huts and they look very cool. You can see the snows peaks from your bed. i loved seeing Trishul every morning. I used to get up early to see the morning Sunlit peaks at sunrise. Amazing. THis itself was sufficient to make my trip in Binsar.
Best Experience: The hospitality of the host/owner of Khali estate was simply too good. Simplicity and his loving nature, sharing his experiences about treks to different places, history of the khali estate; the fireplace - sitting by the fireplace and listening to stories from Pandeyji was so warm experience. All guests would come down and sit by fire and then eat the delicious food made by the cook there. That was something nice. I like the gajar halwa a lot. It had a very different taste - taste of purity i would say. I would sit in the sun in the afternoon breathing the purest air and overlooking the valley. Once we trekked down to the village. People in the village are so helpful. All in all it was a wonderful lifetime experience. I would definitely like to go back to Binsar sometime and stay in Khali estate. Oh yes, we trekked to the Binsar top too. It had a great view of all mountains. I loved it. I just loved it.
Worst Experience: I wouldn\'t say this is my bad experience, but for the city dwellers or people not prepared for the cold, may find this place very cold. THis is a very natural, calm and peaceful place with no bad points.

"The place, its location and..."

The place, its location and the surrounding forests are one of the best you can have in the entire utterances. Very green which is immensely soothing for the city & concrete worn eyes of the tourist. Have been here three times but you always wish to come back for more. Nearby hills offer good trekking options and there are a lot of places to visit nearby within a 60 km radius which can easliy keep you busy for a 5-7 days. In my opinion, hill stations have three charms : river/ stream, snow or greenery and for greenery its the best and also thehre is a stream flowing at some distance whose musical sounds soothe you no end.
Best Experience: The enthusiasm of the employees to assisst you was excellent. The 3 km trek to the Binsar hilltop was very good with very good sighting from the top. Lots and lots of trees within the resort itself, good library and a very good open sittinig area. If fact it has many things like badminton courts, swings, tennis court, peace and serenity to get the kids and even older people invloved.
Worst Experience: None - it was wonderful

Best Experience: It was our first view of the Himalayas. The resort has cottages which are strategically planned in such a way that all rooms have a window that opens up to give us a splendid view of the Himalayas.
Worst Experience: As usual, the traffic jams in UP...nothing can be bad in Binsar !!!!
