I just have to say that I have stayed at Araam hotel twice and both times had the most inconvenient visit possible. While their recent renovations made the hotel and its facilities appear great - it's service and staff were beyond difficult, committed fraud, consistently overcharged us and that's just the beginning! I have all the paperwork if one need proof. If you'd like the long story - I was with a group of 20 students from Australia (having booked 9 rooms months in advance) yet due to a wedding party or something of the sort they only gave us 7 - saying it's only for 1 night and that beds would be provided. Beds were not provided (a dodgy little mattress was given) and then they charged 300 rupee on top for that third person on the floor! In a pathetic defence to save themselves, when my mum and teacher complained they said my mum took one of the rooms my teacher had booked even though my dad had booked the room under his name (no connection to the group or university) and plenty in advance. They had no idea that my mum and I even knew the teacher or the rest of the students. We had one of the staff members come up to say that the manager had a large group of people come in and that he didn't want them to go to another hotel so he gave them our booked rooms! This then lasted 2 nights -despite them promising it would only be one- as they only gave 1 extra room the second night (still only having 8 out of the 9 booked rooms). Moving on, Most of the students had payed their room service bill every few days and ALL paid the complete bill a whole night before our checkout. In the early morning I get a call saying they require more money due to a glitch in their system. After much arguing we paid whatever they were bantering only to find out (from hotel staff) that we were suppose to get a 10% discount but didn't. The manager had written that a 10% discount was given on all documents /bills yet he charged us all in full! We also had additional charges made to our bill that never even existed - twice - and had to argue so much for them to only charge us for the services we actually used!
FOOD/SERVICE: There were only 2 menus in the entire Hotel available to us. 1 of which was in a room and the other in the dining area - needless to say - ordering took forever! Menu prices varied to what was charged on the bill - when we asked for a menu with updated prices they denied our request and said that we should just pay the difference without question. Yes - they are that rude! While the food for me was good - most of the students received orders AFTER AN HOUR, so they begged to differ. A classmate ordered soup for dinner and ice cream for dessert. 30 mins after ordering she was at my door (as I had also ordered the same soup) asking if I received mine. I said yes and that they already came to collect the dirty dishes. An hour after her ice cream turned up - completely melted and in a PLASTIC BAG - yes- the kind you get at the supermarket. And he said because they had run out (this was a constant excuse as 75% of their menu wasn't actually there) they had to send someone to get it - thus the delay. He then charged slightly more without even telling my friend and when she agreed to pay but wanted a receipt they refused. They wanted the money but said because it was purchased from outside - they can not provide a receipt. She then got her soup a little later. Wi-Fi- be warned - if you do not have an Indian sim - you're going to have great difficulty obtaining Wi-Fi. While most places use a password or something similar - araam use cards with serial numbers that need to be verified (via phone number). They have an international phone option but the verification text never arrived- for any of the 20 students. This card is then only valid for either an hour or 24 (don't bother asking which is which - they have no idea themselves) and then you need to verify after that time. So if you were lucky enough to get a 24 hour one - you need to verify it daily. Hotel staffs were hospitable with this by giving their numbers for verification but only after I saw them giving it out to a few of the Australian girls after refusing me. Mind you I come from an Indian background - have coffee type skin (and not white) so I was treated differently. After I questioned the manager’s racism towards me - I eventually got a verification code. In a nutshell - there are possibly one or two staff members that actually do their job to a certain degree, interior and facilities were good, housekeeping was great, and Wi-Fi (when Working and able to be verified) was good too. Other than that - I have never been to such a hell hole. Management was rude, inhospitable and consistently overcharged us in every manner possible and then had the nerve to argue with us to try and prove that they were right. This hotel only cares about money - service is possibly a .5/10 - at best. If you enjoy lack of service and melted ice cream served in a bag then give them a call - otherwise I suggest you save yourself and book elsewhere. We had lovely dinner a few times at a hotel called house of MG - got coupons every visit and food was served while hot!
Every year our social friendly group decides a trip to in Diwali holidays. In October month our group decided to visit Ahmadabad the main city of Gujarat. As to uplift our travel experience we are in search of 5 star hotel & we got one elite name " Eastin Hotel" in Ahmadabad.
The state of Gujarat is itself is known as a best destination for tourists and travellers. So we are pretty joyful to visit Gujarat and Ahmadabad. We arrived Ahmadabad and reached to the hotel which is situated at SG Highway. The hotel is precious in terms of appearance. This hotel consists of 156 rooms and offers 3 varieties to stay as superior, deluxe and suite. We friends already booked suite to enjoy five star experiences.
When we entered our suit we found a highly luxurious ambience, the suite design is pretty modern with furniture. The clean and neat bathrooms with bathtubs are good. The AC suite with LCD cable TV and special free Wi-Fi facility is good. There is a dedicated telephone lines to call any time for room services.
The various amenities offered by hotel are large swimming pool, spa with special rooms, juice bar, fitness centre, family floor and facilities for children. One of the most signature point of Eastin hotel is restaurant which serves a Pan Asian cuisines. We enjoyed the food a lot here. The standard of food is high in terms of texture, flavour. This hotel also offers a coffee bar to enjoy all type of international coffees.
We do not forget the Gujarati staff the heartful hospitality. Very humble very committed and the clever staff guided us for shopping and visiting city places. Our five star experience with this five star hotel is really exceptional. We really recommend tourists to come, visit and stay at Eastin hotel in Ahmadabad, Gujarat.
I do visit Ahmedabad with professional as well as tourism purpose. And i prefer Hotel Nami Residency for its central location, its connectivity to all parts of town and also for the services and the quality food i get it here. Nami residency provides good cars for airport pick up and drop, the sense of quality starts from these vehicles itself. Along with the calm and helpful driver. At arrival the hotel appearance is neat, species, and welcoming if not too grand. Rooms provide you every comfort solution and you can expect from a 3 to 4 star hotel. With all electronics at its best and luxuries bathrooms to take away your tiredness. The room service is quick and prompt. The laundry services are also efficient and quick. The newly started spa services with in hotel was added attraction, though i didn't availed it this time.
In my eyes the strong most point of this hotel is undoubtedly the food. Food over here is available across the variants like Hindustani, Oriental and also the continental, i was having my breakfast (complementary) in the hotels restaurant and it impressed me so high that i had all my dinners at hotel only. The quality and quantity is awesome beyond the great taste. If you are there in Nami residency you are already in CBD of Ahmedabad, so it takes less than 15 minutes to reach many important locations. And at free time in evening the river bank of Nehru bridge, Allice Bridge are merely on 5 minutes walking distance. The Noted tourist point Mahatma Gandhi Ashram is also on the same road few kilometers ahead which is must see, in my eyes everybody must visit this ashram when in Ahmedabad. The state Capital Gandhinagar is also 40 minutes drive fro the hotel (Hotel also can arrange you a cab on request) where you can visit the famous Akshardham Mandir.
We were unsure what a desert safari is....until we went to Dasada at Rann Riders resort, last diwali. They have created an oasis in the arid and barren terrain of Surendranagar.
The place itself is a complete thing and you don\'t need to go out of the premises for anything. It has a beautiful garden, lake with ducks, isolated spots for reading - thinking, swimming pool , excellent restaurant and well made and comfortable modern huts.
The desert safari is a personalised experience where we (me, my spouse and our one year old kid) were give a special trip with a hospitable guide to the little rann of Kutch. We saw the river in the desert, wild asses, endless horizon of nothingness, desert birds etc and it was an experience of life time.
Finally, we went to the rock salt dunes and climbed it. My wife showed adventurous spirit to climb some 30 + feet dunes and relished the 360 degree view of nothingness but just couldn\'t climb down....and it was endless fun to see her drag herself down the dune.
We were at the Rann riders resort just after Diwali days
Best Experience: The highlights were
a) Desert safari in open jeep and running along with the wild asses, seeing desert river and migratory birds
b) The resort which is equipped to be a complete experience of lake, swimming pool, birds, garden, playing area and excellent restaurant
c) Huts which were round in shape which adopts the desert style design to retain the comfortable temp inside. The huts were equipped with all the bare necessities and with AC. The huts gave a vintage and village look which was so tempting
d) The hospitality and treatment given to us were uncomparable. Even with a one year old kid we had no problem. At night 3 also, whenever demanded about anything was available in a jiffy.
e) Food was according to your choice. You tell them and they make it and that too so delicious
You can get an excellent weekend over there and rejuvenate yourself with the experience of living at Rann Riders and the local culture
Best time to go there is during Diwali and winter season.
Worst Experience: No specific worse experience. Only difficulty is to get them and their direct contact details
My Ahmedabad trip recently last month in June 2016 was more of a rather than being specifically to Ahmedabad. I guess I will have to admit this, in order to be fair and honest with you all (my readers). Since I had a couple of days off and having started thinking on how best to spend these 2-3 days, and the fact that the flight tickets were **** so cheap those days, I had invariably decided to head here. I have been to Ahmedabad quite a few times, the first time in 2004 but never really explored the city. Searching for a good stay from myriad hotels in Ahmedabad was pretty easy, thanks to so many online travel portals these days. So, here I finally land up in Hotel Ashish. From the outside, the building property looks fairly good (although the surrounding area can make you feel that it's rusty and really only this building facade is made all shiny with the passage of time). The below pictures shall describe my overall experience, have a look. This is a better option from all the other good budget hotels in Ahmedabad. I reached here on a Thursday around 11. 00 am. There much rush and my check-in formalities have in quick time. The concierge personnel was helpful. I felt the room size was very small, just about okay for one person. Lets say with a total of 3 people I. E. Husband & wife and even an infant, you would feel suffocated in this kind of room. In that case you may have to opt for a bigger room (AC Executive Room), which is about 50% costlier than the room I stayed in (AC Basic). The higher version obviously seems nice. Distance From Popular Tourist Spots Hotel Ashish is located at Mirzapur Road, which is the city centre of Ahmedabad, about 7 Kms from Airport and 1. 5 Kms from Ahmedabad Railway station, 1 km from Ashram Road, 2. 50 kms from Law Garden, 6 kms from Gandhi Ashram, 20 kms from Gandhinagar - the capital of Gujarat - that has one of the most popular and airdropping Akshardham Temple.
