On our holiday to Rajasthan earlier this year we had made advance bookings at all our destinations since we were travelling in the tourist season. Since on-line booking was available at all RTDC hotels, we had settled for these hotels at all locations we were visiting.
Hotel Khadim is a really good property but has gone to seed, mainly because of poor upkeep. The place is not cleaned regularly leading to quite a mess, specially the toilets! The bucket and mug seem to have never been washed since they were first purchased!! The bed linen is also well worn and shabby and needs to be immediately changed.
The staff in the dining room are most unfriendly and non-cooperative. With the result that you quickly grab whatever is on offer and run. The surroundings are pleasant and the location is good.
First of all it was a magnificent place to visit. Luxuriant, extraordinary, and such a mild climate of the city. Of course as the hotel is inside a water park there are a numerous fun activities to go with. The pool view is an addition to the serenity of the room. Seeing people enjoying in the pool was a great experience. The staff of the hotel was supportive and cooperative. The hotel provided us with the conveyance which was a great help for the religious visit of the city. The reviews on the site Holiday IQ were of great help for the whole tour. People reading the review are advised to plan there holidays for a long week so as to get the full experience of the care provided by the hotel.
The booking and front office was nice in the hotel. There was no delay in check-in and check-out. The behaviour of staff was friendly in the hotel. All amenities were available in working condition. Garden was available at the hotel. Appearance of the hotel was nice. I went to this hotel by my own vehicle. Parking facility was available at the hotel. The location of the hotel was nice.
Right from the booking experience where no one in the reservation office was able to even provide a quote, through to the checkout, every single experience was downright horrible.
Worst Experience: The 'reservations office' is incapable of even providing a quote! It took over a week to get the reservations done.
The rooms/ bathrooms have a horrible smell which seems to be due to the fungus in the walls of the room/ bathroom since there is a lot of seepage. Also it seemed as if there was a strong odor from the sewage system. We had to get room freshener sprayed as soon as we stepped in. Since we were leaving the same day we did not insist on a room change, but any self respecting hotel would have done that.
The 'complimentary pickup' from the railway station was done in and antiquated vehicle which barely started after significant effort and threatened to fall apart at every bump on the road!
The arrangements for cab for travel to Pushkar was done by the hotel's 'owner' Prashant and the 'travel desk'. The driver that turned up seemed to be just out of school but we agreed to go with him because he claimed lot of interstate travel experience including to Delhi the previous day. He manage to drive the car into sand at Pushkar and got it stuck. Handed over his keys to the workers at the spot and asked them to remove the car from the desert. They got the car stuck further into the desert and finally a tow was required. Took over an hour in the blistering mid-April sun in Pushkar. It was bad since I had my elderly mother with me. Neither the hotel nor the cab agency - Sanjay Taxi Services - bothered to do anything about it despite being informed about the incident. Further, though we cancelled the cab after 1/2 day, the hotel insisted on charging us pretty much for the whole day and after multiple interactions did a small notional reduction in the cab amount. They kept on blaming the cab agency - Sanjay Taxi services - for being obstinate. From what it seems is that they are hand in glove with the Taxi agency and fleece outstation customers. The hotel employees themselves tell you that when you check in!!
It is a horrible place to stay. The owner/ staff just look for ways of making small money without any botheration of customer interest. Would recommend you look at other alternatives to stay. The only reason we looked at this hotel is because we had a late night train and this hotel was relatively closer to the station.
I am a frequent traveller and stayed in this hotel in December 2015. I was on a business tour travelling from Hanumangarh to Ajmer. My friend booked this hotel online through makemytrip. I reached the hotel around 10 pm. The room allotted to me was the worst room I have seen in my life. It was smaller than the bathroom in my house. When I opened the cupboard to hang my cloth, a foul smell welcomed me. The bedsheet was covered with stains. When I asked for the water bottle, it took 30 minutes to be delivered. The hotel claims they have a restaurant in the hotel, but when I asked for it, they said that the food can be served from the outside. In the online pictures, they shows an LED TV with a set top box, but in the room it was an ordinary TV with a few channels. When I asked for the free wifi password from the front desk, the receptionist said that the wifi works only in the lobby area. In the morning, when I asked for my complimentary breakfast at around 7 am as I need to leave early, the hotel staff said that I need to pay for the breakfast as the complementary one could be provided only after 9 am.
Later when I made a complaint with the make my trip along with my room number and the issues I faced, the hotel denied any charges. So I asked the make my trip to send their representative in the hotel and check all the facts. They found all of my charges true and gave me a voucher for future use as the hotel denied any refund.
