Resort - a huge place with lots and lots of lawn area and shacks to sit around and relax. The swimming pool is right in the center surrounded by rooms on 3 sides, looks magnificent at dusk. The huge and clean pool with kids area and managed by a decent and efficient lifeguard. Sit Outs in the lawn area make it for memorable evenings sipping on cocktails or liquor. Cycles of all sizes help you move around the resort. A golf cart helps you to reach your room from reception and yes they are kids friendly too.
Rooms - huge rooms with all amenities as promised. The rooms are clean and clear, and the linen as well. The view from rooms is good too with a small balcony overlooking the pool. No cranky AC's or wet walls.
Service - excellent staff and prompt service, very helpful. They just make sure the guests don't feel left out.
Breakfast - lavish spread and edible too with all kinds of varieties on offer too.
Restaurant - thats one area they need to upscale. Less varieties on menu for lunch or dinner and also the cost for a-la-carte seems to be on a higher side. Hence I saw quite a few at restaurants in Kihim or alibaug. Else the food is tasty and relished.
All in all a good experience and would surely go again probably during rains to experience more greenery and windy atmosphere.
A big Thank you to the staff of uTropicana for making it memorable.
I went there with friends in October. Location was very good, it was sea view. It was located near to transportation. Surrounding of the hotel was good. This beach was No. 1 in Alibaug. Staff was good in this hotel. They gave immediate response on calling. No delay in check-in and check-out time. Everything was first class there. Sameer was a good person there. Interior and exterior look of the hotel was good. Room was spacious, neat and clean. TV, AC, geyser, and all were provided in the room and in working condition. Room was good. It was sea-facing room. Pillows, bed sheets, blankets, and washroom were neat and clean there. They used to clean the room regularly. Hot and cold water was available for all the time. I took food in this hotel. I ate Chinese and Indian food there. Only veg food was available in this hotel but they arranged non-veg food also from outside. Quality and taste of food was best. Food price was reasonable. Activities were there but we did not use them. Sightseeing trip was organized by the hotel people for us. I was fully satisfied with this hotel. I will refer it to others. They should give discount their regular customer.
It was a good experience. Specially we stayed there for one night in groups. We didn't expected that the staff will be so quick and accurate when we were at around 11 clock just one hour before midnight. Staff were all co-operative regarding all the arrangements.
Regarding the amenities. Well there are numerous amenities like pool and all but we were totally disappointed as we couldn't used it. Because it was already midnight we didn't noticed it. We actually noticed when we were about to check out the next day. Staff also didn't remind us regarding the amenities and facilities we are getting in this package. Bed was indeed fluffy and nice and were excellent to sleep on. Television set well there were television set but actually we were enjoying in our parties we didn't get the time to see on. But when we woke up in morning to see televisions the channels are not working but we didn't mind as we were being ready to check out for the next day.
The staff were co-operative and were kind to us were timely in giving the services to us. The housekeeping were good but just a thing actually it was been heard that the staff was not available after 12 to provide all the facilities. Don't mind in the saying from my point of view staff should be available to provide the facilities asked by the customers or clients.
When advised if properly judged this hotel is nice to visit as its seen near the beach with a beautiful sight. Yes there is a swimming pool facility, gym, mess service for food everything.
Things will like to do when visiting this hotel that we will smashed ourself in the swimming pool with glass of bears, cocktail or mocktail in our hand. They also have door indoors which is far away from the noisy area. It a huge hotel. They give soap facility, towel, blanket facility, bedroom, TV sets, AC, shelf and interiors are absolutely fine one would like to stay on. The hotel is also reasonable from money point of view compared to the other hotels.
Great Property, Prompt Service, Great Choice on Food
We went for a short trip & decided to go for Alibagh - Radisson Blu. We thought finding this hotel would be difficult (as many reviews had said so), but our GPS did take us right at door step - so no issue there. However, the side lane - which connects the hotel from the main road - that is quite pathetic. So, you are going to have 5-7 minutes of tough ride on a narrow lane.
Location: Hotel is spread across around 17 acres land. This is truly an awesome property! Yes - the maintenance could have been a bit better (as you will see aged wood work, rusty joints, lack of paint coats at patches) - but looking at the spread of this property - I think Management have been doing a good job.
Rooms: You have a valet parking- then you have to check-in. At first as you enter, lobby is great (& you are greeted with flowers/tilak etc. & welcome drinks). For us, checking-in took a while. We were getting bit impatient - as we had to wait for almost 30-40 minutes - as apparently the departing guests were taking long to check-out. We were given 1st floor rooms - but one of them had foul smell. We requested for change & that was entertained quickly & we were given a nice crown bed room.
Facilities: You get all standard amenities - goes without saying (e.g. mini bar, TV, safe, western fittings in rest rooms). We did have a problem with one of the TVs - as it had horrible reception. But when guest relation called & inquired about experience - we mentioned the same & they promptly replaced the TV. BTW - you also get complimentary "wired" internet at your room. Wi-fi is available at Lobby!
Food: You have plenty of options here. You have 24 hrs Room Service. You also have 3-4 food joints within the property e.g. "Kokum & Spice", "Aparanta", "Coastal Cuisines" etc. Food is pricy, but we did enjoy "Kokum & Spice" in particular.
Swimming Pool: You have an excellent pool here - one for kids & other for adults. Though the pool side bar was not functional - but pool in itself was nice, maintained & always under watchful eyes of the life guard.
Other Attractions: You do have a "Mandir" inside. So if you wish, you may spend an evening/morning for the "aarti". For entertainment - you have gaming zone (with air hockey, carrom, pool), disc, bar-n-lounge. For kids there are slide & swing at one corner. Though not big, good enough to spend a while. For toddlers - there is a small activity room as well.
There were some other attaractions as well - but they were not maintained. So, we couldn't use them - but would have loved if they were available. E.g. cricket net - with bowling machine; lawn tennis court; basketball court.
Final Words: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will love to visit again in future. This may not be a "value for money" proposition (as we couldn't avail all the facilities) - but definitely good place to spend a few days relaxing.
We started from Pune to explore Konkan and drive towards Alibaug. After reaching Alibaug, we started looking for a peaceful and quiet location nearby and this thought took us to a small yet wonderful place named Awaas. Awaas is a typical konkan side village with very limited access to the city like life. There is only one good place to stay in Awaas and that is Joglekar Cottages. Must appreciate the thought and the efforts that Joglekar and family has taken to give it a complete family cottage feel. Spread across a few acres, this cottage is excellent stay if you are looking for a family get together or a group getaway. Ambience is good and hosts a few cages with pets, ducks, fish tanks which makes it eventful for kids. The rooms are good compared to the home stay that Konkan offers, just that you need to pre-book the rooms a few weeks in advance. The best thing that they offer is food with a regional touch, we enjoyed the food over there which was superb and served upto our expectations. The service is prompt and you can expect them to yo, they also serve you for your liking if you tell them in advance. Recommend this place to anyone who is planning for a 1/2 nights stay at a scheduled place nearby Alibaug.
