It was a good hotel. The location was very nice. The hotel was located in a convenient place. The surroundings of the hotel were all good. It was sort of an island and we went there by ferry. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were quick to respond to all our requests. There was no delay in check-in and check-out time. The room was spacious, neat, clean and maintained. The interior and exterior look of the hotel was good. There was no special view from the room. They regularly cleaned the room. 24 hours hot and cold water facility was available. They provided both veg and non veg food. The quality and variety of food was good. Food was reasonably priced. They had games like carom, swimming pool, etc in the hotel. Sightseeing was arranged by the hotel.
We had heard about Jogalekar Cottage but never had experienced. We (as a couple) wanted to spend some time together for our anniversary but couldn't afford to travel a lot and had a very short time (just a week end including travelling). So this was a choice we made and turned out to be a very appropriate choice. The cottage has a wide variety of choices of stay based on the group size. We had to struggle a little for few minutes before the room of our choice could be cleaned and allotted to us but that's very understandable and quickly forgotten looking at the cleaned and spacious room made available for us. Only problem with the room was the wooden stair case passes through the room for the upper floor and cranks a little every time someone walks on the same. :(. The food was just a delight and I regret I had just one stomach to absorb all the delicious menus available including Modaks that too right off the cooking vessels. We just had a go on the menu. The biggest advantage with this cottage is walk-able distance separating the beautiful sea shore. It's quiet, no commercial activities like sports, hawkers etc troubling you. We had a great time sitting in the clean sand for few hours experiencing the beautiful sun-set without any disturbance. Amazing experience. The team is pure Maharashtrian and specializes in the Marathi way of cooking and fooding which was again the delight and more so they are welcoming. For kids. There are water tanks showcasing variety of fish, ducks roaming freely and turtles etc. There's a nice quiet temple to sit, nice music around the swimming pool to enjoy and more to come as some more buildup and infrastructure changes are happening So overall. A should visit place for a relaxed short holiday. :)
We arrive one hour before the scheduled check-in time and had to wait in garden for one hour with 1. 5 year old and 6 year old kid. It was hot and humid and they didn't show the courtesy for asking water/ tea. I booked a/c room and the room cleanliness was poor. Smelling toilets, dirty bathroom and floor with dead cockroach laying right in front of door to welcome us The a/c and Tv in the room were not power backed up by DG set so when the electricity is off then you will not have a/c and Tv. During my one day stay I observed several times power cuts which left the a/c and Tv unavailable The swimming pool was not suitable for children as it contents lots of chlorine and water quality is bad. The swimming pool was completely captured by group of males who were drinking alcohol on the pool side. They were also spilling their beers in the pool which was pathetic During the night time when I asked milk for my 1. 5 year old then they said that its over. But they were having plenty of soda and cold drinks for alcohol lovers. The rain dance music is on from morning till night and there was no peace at all The response from the owner is very sad and it seems that they only care about mass and were ignorant with small families. The food was average. The hygienic conditions are horrible. I saw the a cat in the kitchen was eating some food ingredients which kept aside for preparation of lunch. The cleanliness in the dining area is so poor that I saw a bread slice on the floor during the breakfast and the same was laying there at dinner time. They charged 3800/- for two persons per day which is not worth of what they provide. Overall its not a place for family. Stay away from it .
The overall experience was fine. The hotel was conveniently located and it was in the city. The hotel was provided very good service. The atmosphere was very good and the owner of the hotel was nice and helpful. Staff behaviour was also friendly and co-operative. The quality of the food was excellent. They provide all types of veg and Non veg food. The room was very good, it was not so spacious but neat, clean and very well maintained. The room amenities were functioning properly. The swimming pool was there in the hotel and in the night they arranged campfire. It was a very nice place to visit. Sightseeing trip was not organized by the hotel so I arranged myself. It was a recommendable hotel for holiday. As it was very good hotel so I don't have any suggestion for hotel improvement. I was very much satisfied with the hotel and it was value for money.
