- Into the wild!

Kindly treat it more as a travel blog than a review.
Myself and 8 of my colleagues had been to this place a couple a weeks ago. We left Bangalore city at 6 am in 2 cars (1 Toyota Qualis and 1 Maruti Zen ). Post a few coffee breaks in Mysore and Gundulpet, we reached a village called Hangla at 10:30 am ( 12 Kms before the Bandipur forest check post) to purchase a few beers for the night in tiger ranch. Over our stay for the next 24 hours, the only thing which disappointed us about Tiger Ranch was that, they don't provide any form of liquor. However, we were glad that, they provided us a rack in their refrigerator to chill our drinks.
Hourly detailing of our stay there :
@11:15 am - we checked into Tiger Ranch. Even though our weekend trip was not a pre planned one and we informed the management of the resort only the previous night, still the owner - Mr Mahendra Nath made sure that we were comfortably checked inn.
@ 12:30 pm -all of us refreshed ourselves and were exploring the property and the surroundings, which was located in the middle of the forest. To begin with, we played a few outdoor games, a 5 over cricket match , a few rounds of volleyball and badminton ( they have a decent facility for sports and also provided us with the bats, stumps, volleyball ) also, a couple of my lazy colleagues played carom, chess and table tennis.
@ 1:45 pm - We were served lunch , which was a buffet. It included rice, roti, 3 curry's, 2 kinds of sabzi (all punjabi style khaana, was actually yum yum ;-) ) , rasam, curds and salad, we ordered for 2 pepper chicken for extra price. which was hot and spicy. (I suggest the readers to try the pepper chicken with either lunch or dinner / or as a starter with drinks)
@2:30 - 6 pm - After lunch, 4 of my friends took a long power nap in the cottage. The cottage was a based on the traditional tribal lifestyle , its kind of a bamboo based room with cots and beds and was really spacious with a western restroom and ours was of a 12 bed occupancy capacity. They had cottages ranging from 4 to 12 occupancy, catering to each guests requirement. The rest of us went for trekking in the nearby vicinity and were really fortunate to witness a wild dog chase. The wild dogs / dholes almost chased down a deer, however we were more than happy to see the deer outrun the dhole's and go on to live another day.
@Post 7pm till midnight - This is the time one would actually be glad to have taken the option of coming to Tiger Ranch than any other resort in and around Bandipur. Each group of guests were provided with a bon fire outside their cottage ( it comes with an extra charge of 150 Rs ;-( , was worth every penny though . The night time was a cocktail of, excitement, anxiety , adventure, and lots and lots of FUN, (we spotted a big heard of deers which parked themselves around our cottage to save themselves from the carnivorous animals and also heard a thumping roar of a tusker) after which we locked ourselves into the cottage, even though the place had 24 hour security personnels guarding the property .Had a Punjabi style tasty buffet dinner before hitting the sack though ..
@6 am - 6 of us went for a trek with one of the staff designated for the same and the other 2 friends were asleep because of the extra few beers they had the previous night ;-). Even though we dint spot anything interesting apart from deers and peacocks, it was exciting because of the interesting stories and experiences narrated by the person in-charge, who had spent more than 4 decades in the forest and narrating all the close shaves he had.
@10 am : All of us had breakfast (the most boring meal of the day for me, after the tasty Lunch and Dinner. Even when I am at Home, I have never liked breakfasts) My friends liked it though, consisted of uppma, Garden lemon rice, bread- omelette with loads of butter and the tastiest chutney I have ever had. (Was coconut based and really spicy.)
We left Tiger Ranch at 11 am the next day, with lots of good memories and a great time.
We were really excited to go back Home for only one reason , that we would come back again to this paradise in the wild with a few more friends the next time..
Would highly recommend this place,If you want a relaxing time out from the hustle and bustle of the noisy city life.

Gosh I am actually nostalgic &out of words to describe this place.
It is situated hardly 30 mts from the Bandipur main gate. It has a very beautiful rustic feeling to it. So those looking for things like SPA, crowds, howling kids and lack of privacy can avoid this place. This is strictly for nature lovers. People those who like to wake up & sleep listening to the chirping of birds, calls of wolves, jackals, deer and trumpet of the elephants. There is complete privacy and unlike other resorts there are not much people around so you have the resort all to yourself.
We had booked the room for Rs 2000 per head and trust me each and every paise paid off.
Details: ME and My buddies booked 3 rooms and paid an advance of Rs 2100 only. We pre-poned our plan and started friday night at 12 pm and reached M C Resort at 5.30am saturday morning. The staff at the reception counter got up @ 5.30am to allot us our room(gosh he didn't even complain that we had arrived before time).
. At 6.30 am we went for the Safari ride, came back form the ride at around 8.45 am and after freshening up we had a sumptuous breakfast at 9.00am. No hotel or restaurant can match there food standard ,it's simply finger licking. After having our breakfast we headed for the pool .The pool was extremely clean and there was very less chlorine in it.
Then we went for a nap and were woken up by the staff at 3 pm to have our lunch. After the food session we went to the Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta temple. It was long winding ride up the hill but was very exciting.
After coming back form there we had a good sports session playing volley ball, table tennis, cricket and our very oldie hide and seek :P. Then at 6.00pm we were served Tea/Coffee/snacks. Then we went for a walk round the resort and on the road adjoining it.
At 8.30pm the staff invited us for the bonfire and there we were our very own jingle party. There was no music, nothing fancy, yet there was something enrapturing and vivid. The cool breeze and the warmth form the bonfire, along with the call of the animals and the view of the starry sky ,truly mad e it an outstanding experience.
Later in the night we were served dinner and then it was light off for us.
Next day,i.e, Sunday we were woken up at 6 am and served Tea/Coffee ,we then started for our nature trek at 7am and it went well over for 1.30hrs. We did catch the sight of wild deer, heard the trumpet of elephant and it all felt very over-whelming. We got back and were served breakfast. At 11 am we checked out.
1-It has the highest privacy.
2-Very caring and attentive staff.
5-Very close to nature.
6-Great value for money.
7-Great place for nature lovers.
Cons:(for some people)
1-Doesn't has a SPA(Dude who needs it)
2- Not crowded(not a great place for wannabe's)
..Can't think of anything more.
This is the only place which didn't give me a chance to complain and crib. The STAFF--hats off to you guys, you are the most courteous and caring employees I have met so far. The chef-you do know how to cook a meal, amazing job.
Do meet Mr Swamy,he was one of our attendants. Man the quickest service so far.
My BEST EXPERIENCE SO FAR. I love you M C RESORT.Thank you.
Best Experience: -They give you whatever and whenever you want certain things. Ask for a cup of tea and lo and behold max 5 mins to serve it.
-The attendants are very caring, courteous and full of patience(gosh we were literally monkeying round & they had no probs).
- Very,very,very helpful.
Worst Experience: No worst experience, but a SPA would have done it( am just saying)
- A natures nest with good facilities & polite staff

Oh my god, when we reach there, the location is at its best, right into the forest. It was like a big nest placed in between nature, they greeted us so warmly. I just entered details in the form and we were escorted to the room, The moment we enter the room we felt as if the rooms were made naturally inside caves they were so beautifully designed as and according to the forest concept with beautiful paintings and the window curtains are placed on tree barks. The fireplace is exactly designed how it would be in a forest. The washrooms so excellently designed where the shower area has a semi trans glass on top so as to allow the sunlight to penetrate naturally from the top. The beds are designed as if you are actually sleeping within trees and the best part was they gave us a complete house with two bedrooms and a centre hall interconnected with our own big balcony which only we could use. The beds were big with bouncy mattresses (comfort at its best).
Swimming pool was big and clean, disco area was fantastic, games like carrom board, table tennis, badminton, volley ball, cricket all available for everyone at any given time (just keeps you occupied). Complimentary breakfast and dinner and who does not like that, all varieties of food were served, just pick anything eat and be merry.
They have safari vehicles, tower top (forgot the height)you can actually climb up and see entire Bandipur from that top, ducks, turkeys, friendly dogs in the campus to add to the beauty. Garden is so huge with lawn area.
The staff were so polite and humble I became friend with them and know each one by name. Housekeeping were available on a call whenever required and never hesitated to do their job.
My advise to everyone would be when in Bandipur do not think of any other place apart from Country Club Wildlife Resort as there is no other place which can give you such a wonderful experience and hospitality, especially inside a forest and in short its "Heaven on earth", to add on they have no hidden costs, very cost effective with complimentary breakfast and dinner. When we paid the bill we almost felt that, it was like staying for free because the facilities and amenities were so much compared to the minimal bill we payed. "Stay there to experience true nature"

- Position of the Resort: First...

Staff: The best. They have a staff assigned to a group of guest, and he takes care of all your needs and they are always there to help you. Thier attitude is outstanding.
Cost: Cheapest option among the resorts. Rs. 1750 (including tax) per person is really cheap considering the facilities provided and the location of the resort. It includes
* a double room on sharing basis
* Foods: Dinner, Lunch and Breakfast- Buffet System (all Veg with one Non-veg curry). Sufficient options with good quality of food. They will also provide tea in evening and in morning with Biscuits. Apart from that you can order other snacks or drinks of your own cost (They are also not costly chicken snacks Rs. 80 and veg snacks Rs40).
* Jungle Safari: A two and half hour safari (Govt safari is for only 40 mins) which covered a larger area of the Jungle. This resort is one of the few resorts who have a permission to run their own vehicles for a safari.
* Jungle Trek: A nice walk in the Jungle for aroud 2-3 hours with experience guides.
Check-in/ Check out time: No fixed time:). You can go there of your convenience and can spend 24 hrs (2-3 hr more also they dont mind)
Surrouding of the Resort: Excellent. This resort is adjusent to the forest and you\'ll find lots of trees in the resorts. the area of the resort is aroud 5 acres and only 18 huts excludig one office room and dining hall is built in this huge area. This resort is really spacious. You can find lots of birds there. Night or evening time you can find dear around the resort and if you are lucky, you can find elephants, wild boar and Bisons near the resort. The resort has children play area.
Best Experience: Best: I\'ve gone there about 12 time in last 5 years (Much before they started the package system) and the best I found there are:
* Hospitality and attitude of the staffs
* Complete natuaral surrounding
* No fixed check-in check out time (Around 24hrs).
Worst Experience: Worst: Have not faced anything bad, but there are certain improvement areas like
* The rooms and bathroom were clean enough to stay. That can be better.
* Credit card Acceptance
* ISD/ STD phone facility
* Swming pull/ Gym facility (Though according to me it\'s not required and will harm the natuaral beauty of the resort)
