We simply loved this hotel. Situated in the peaceful pretty village of Nagoa, Presa di Goa provided a real sanctuary from the hustle and quite frankly \'hassle\' of Calangute yet is only ten minutes away from the gorgeous beaches (travel to and from the beach is provided via car as a complimentary service). It is run by a seasoned 5 star hotelier from Luxembourg called Eduardo Speck who was real joy. Not only did his experience and personal touch show through in the seamless operation and I have to say exceptional service we received, but he was also a witty raconteur to boot! There are seven rooms in all, some larger suites and I think all have balconies or access to a private outside area. The rooms are all named after flowers and are tastefully furnished with antique furniture and there is a good pool and garden. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was simply delicious especially our breakfasts served daily on our balcony.
Best Experience: The sound and sight of some really beautiful birds from the balcony that I\'m afraid I will not be able to name until I look them up in an Indian book of birds! Privacy is really important to us, we are on the whole quite antisocial when wanting to get away from it all on holiday, and this place has really good private dappled shaded balconies at the back (ours was called Champa), or in the best suite (cossandra) a larger sunny balcony looking out to the pool and garden. The building is a refurbished and significantly extended old Goan property and really hasn\'t lost any of its charm, infact the entire village, except one or two newer houses is full of beautiful old Goan villas and a lovely old church, a perfect setting for our evening walks. In their delightful outside restaurant, the food is on the whole Turkish, this is because their Goan chef has been trained in a 5 star hotel in Turkey, and I have to say those trays of mezze were a delight, but if you looking for authentic Goan, they will cook most things for you, nothing is a problem for the staff here. The beauty of this small hotel is that it is both small and beautiful and if you want to know whether they are cooking your favorite Goan dish tonight look up into the palm trees and see them picking the very coconuts that will be in it!
Worst Experience: I have really tried to think of a bad thing about this hotel and I can honestly say I can\'t think of one. I had trouble dialling out on my phone one day, but they sorted it out in a jiffy, thats it! All I can say is that if If you want to meet Mr. and Mrs. Boggs and their flatulent son Derek from Croydon to compare sunburns, have drinking contests and ask for the English menu, then this is not the place for you!
Have been here on April 25 th on the occasion of honeymoon.
Firstly, I was little sceptical on the hotel as I haven't heard the name of the Hotel from any of my friends who visit the place very often. Though I'm a regular visitor to go, I myself never ever heard of this before. So was bit worried and went blindly with the images available in the Google search. And the final day has arrived where I landed to Goa from Hyderabad. It was a bit confusion for the first timer, as this hotel is located a bit away from happening location and you have to take so many small lanes to reach hotel.
Finally, I reached the hotel, and I felt awesome for the welcome from the hotel management. The lobby location is far better one than any of the hotels I visited so far in Goa. We have taken the keys and we were directed to our Honey Moon suite room along with the bell boy which I have booked one month in advance.
Right next to lobby, we have a pleasant view of the swimming pool with the large area in the background. It was a nice and pleasant way to be welcomed and walk along the pool side. However swimming pool is not so deep and have a level of roughly 4 feet and there is a specially constructed small pool exclusively for children which is of 2 feet. People who have kids can also enjoy this pool. And during my stay, I have observed management cleaning the swimming pool twice a day though they were very less people who were using this pool when I went.
As we entered the Honey moon suite room, I was amazed the way they have decorated and made it ready for us. It's is so good and it is as I expected to be which I dream about my honeymoon. The round bed was a king size bed and it was comfortable and relaxing for me. The main thing which attracted me was the spaciousness of the room, which was outstanding. Next comes the comfortable bed and the tub in the bathroom. Room cleanness and perfectly designed ambiance made me sit and observe that beauty for a while.
Whenever I go for a hotel for stay, first thing which I would have a look is the bathroom. But when it comes to this Hotel, it was perfectly designed bathroom with a big tub. When it comes to the room service or management, there were very friendly and professional.
Though the place is far from beach, as we can hire vehicle, it was never a trouble for us.
Note: As I was not very confident of the hotel, I do not want to spoil my Honey moon. I only booked it for two days where in I planned for 4 days. I only stayed in this hotel for 2 days and latter 2 days in other Hotel of Goa(Calangute).
Trust me I enjoyed the experience and comfort in this hotel than in other hotel. I really regretted for booking only two days here in this hotel. I didn't get the service and best experience and lavish room and spacious bathrooms in other hotel though I have spent double the money for park than this.
For anyone I will definitely suggest this hotel to have the best experience in Goa.
Value for money but TV network is not upto the mark. No event conducted by management. Food quality for breakfast was ok. But the menu wasn't changed for breakfast and even for lunch and dinner. Swimming tank and indoor games were available for use. Wifi services were also ok. Room services were prompt but after the morning period. Cleanliness was regularly maintained. Toilet papers were changed regularly and bisleri bottles were given. Towels were changed regularly. Many things were done unexpectedly. AC was excellent. Parking facility I got, was poor. The car was soiled every day. Uncovered parking was given.
I stayed at this hotel with my two kids. They both really loved the swimming pool and stayed in there for as long as they could. I was very impressed by service provided by all staff. They were very courteous and always ready to help with a smile. The Vegas restaurant staff especially Asif's service was beyond excellence. He remembered that my little daughter liked gherkin as she asked for some more on the first day when she just got one with her food. The next day he surprised her with a bowl of gherkins with her normal order. It was a small but very thoughtful gesture and really made mine and my daughter's stay at the hotel a bit special. I will definitely go back but with my own transport as taxis to the beach were quite expensive.
During March-2015 end I planned my vacation with Country Club to Goa and my booking was done at Country Club Royal Assagao. My experience with this stay was excellent. Here are points I wanted to highlight as follows:
Location: The Resort is in Assagao, Goa. Initially I was a bit hesitant as I heard that Assagao is very remote place and away from town. When I reached the venue, my understanding got confirmed. It was indeed very remote place, even the internet dongle connection does not work there. On day one I was upset. Then as the time went by, I realized that it was indeed a good decision to stay away from town/crowded places in Goa. The place was quiet and calm, so I started enjoying it. The other so-called crowded places in Goa are to be precise, over crowded and really no place to relax or for a comfortable walk. The place is indeed a village with nice view of hills covering the horizons. And the best, it is technically not really very far from the crowded places either.
The Resort: It has a very nice swimming pool, quite large and nicely placed with in-the-pool bar (though I did not had to use the bar). I will bet, you can spend hours in that pool. I enjoyed my time with my kids in the pool. One day the pool was closed for cleaning and we were upset, and then we discovered that there was a second pool, which is bit smaller, but good enough to enjoy time. This was incredible.
I got pool-side room in the kitchen block, room no. 102. It had 2 bedrooms and one hall, though we used (and paid for) one bedroom and other was locked. The room and the hall was really so spacious. Very neat. Got small pantry in the room. Bathroom was good too (no bath-tab though). The bedrooms and the hall has individual balcony having pool-side view. All rooms are air-conditioned. Really very nice experience. I think if I go back to Goa again, will perhaps try to stay in the same room again and I will for sure enjoy it again.
Room service staff were really nice, helpful and courteous. I needed extra pillow, blanket, etc for my kids and on requesting they served that we asked for. The rooms were cleaned every day and the cleaning quality was very good.
Due to my profession, I frequently need to be online on Internet and my Internet dongle is of no use there. But then I realized that the cafe and the reception lounge is free Wi-Fi enabled, and those are available for 24X7. I cannot forget the great experience of sitting in spacious, decorated air-conditioned reception lounge and browsing for hours during late hours. It is really great.
Few other points:
The resort had a fantastic pool-side restaurant. The food quality/options were good and the restaurant staff were very cordial too. However, the food at resort restaurant were relatively expensive. As the resort is at very remote place, except one outside restaurant there are no other restaurants available nearby. But the only restaurant which was close to resort (Vinayak Restaurant) just 2 minutes walking and excellent quality food, very cost effective and nice friendly guys. I enjoyed food there.
The resort was around 4 km from the nearest beach Vagator. So if you wish to just walk out of your hotel and be at the beach, then it is not the place. If you have your own car or 2 wheeler, then fine, else there are 24X7 cab support just outside resort premises. The service is very good but going to Vagator beach and coming back will cost Rs. 250/-. So going to beach every time was a costly affair. But the cab drives are very courteous and trustworthy as you will have to leave a lot of stuff in the car when you go to visit some place or beach.
