Location - tucked away in a little valley in a quiet and serene spot about 10 km away from Binsar main town. It could be a challenge to move around if you don't have your own vehicle. There are 2 Mahindra properties in the same location - one is located in the valley and the other villa property is on top of the hill. The villa property is simply gorgeous and worth the stay as its in a secluded part on top of the hill. Both are in a remote location so good for relaxing. Really nothing in that area apart from these 2 resorts.
Food - quality and taste were both good however the food is way over priced. With no other options to eat nearby you will have to shell out the exorbitant prices for the meals at club Mahindra. However the food was tasty. Breakfast was great with many options.
Service and staff - Absolutely excellent service!! Mahindra takes the service level up one notch to 5 star level and hats off to all staff at this CM property. Very warm and prompt service was provided which is the best part of your stay here.
Activities - All activities are on chargeable basis. Costs are not much but overall works expensive if you have a large group. Not many but sufficient activities to keep you busy.
Room - very comfortable bed and heating was great. Warm water 24x7. Bathroom lacked amenities compared to other resorts but sufficient. Room had a small kitchenette and was good sized with a sofa. Very clean and comfortable stay.
Overall a great stay which was mainly due to the great service given by all staff at club Mahindra.
I had the superb pleasure of visiting The Kasaar Jungle Resort at Almora, Uttarakhand. This two star resort is just ten kilometres from the town of Almora itself and two kilometres off the main road on a hillock. The resort, spread over an area of six acres, is so named because of its close proximity to the Kasaar Devi Temple. It is surrounded by pristine jungle thick with Deodhar, Oak, Pine and Rhododendron trees. The Kasaar Jungle Resort has an ambiance of serenity and relaxed calm. The upward sloping cobbled walk to the resort, the clean fade, the immaculate maintenance of the cottages and the efficient courteous staff make your stay very pleasant indeed and you do want to rate it at least a three star resort. Built in modern style amid natural surroundings, the resort is distinctive in its comforts and services at affordable and flexible rates.
The Kasaar Jungle Resort offers twenty four similarly designed cottages, each with a large balcony from where you can view the majestic Himalayan range. The interiors are comfortably spacious and equipped with modern amenities like multi-channel television, telephone, hot and cold running water, laundry service, a doctor on call, ample parking space, rented car facilities and a spa.
The multi cuisine restaurant Vishal View serves delicious meals, especially the parathas at breakfast. It is appropriately named as it has broad windows which command an excellent view of the mountains. The unique aspect of the restaurant is the tree which has grown within the restaurant itself. Other restaurants and bars in the area are also an option for those guests who desire to eat elsewhere. The Mohan confectionery opposite the resort has delicious cakes and confectionery.
The resort arranges sublime activities like yoga and meditation as well as adventurous sport activities like trekking, rappelling and rock climbing. Bird watching and taking walks down natural trails are also leisurely activities in addition to having indoor games like carom, chess, badminton and evenings of housie.
Spice your trip with the exciting visit to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary as it is just a short distance of eight kilometres away from the resort. You can enjoy an elephant ride and view animals like Elephants, Rhino, Deer, Tigers and many species of birds and winged creatures. Princely comforts and lots of fun and excitement at budgetary rates summarize a superb stay at The Kasaar Jungle Resort.
The Kasaar Jungle Resort is 127 kilometres away from Pantnagar Airport and can also be arrived at train from Delhi by the Ranikhet Express in about nine hours. Private operators also provide taxis and private buses. It's a great place to visit throughout the year.
This is the best place to stay if one is inclined towards nature in its raw form. Definately not for the one who would not dare to venture out from the cosy comforts of urban life. The hotel location is quite uphill and one has to take the hotel vehicle to reach the place. On entering the sanctuary, a word is sent about one\'s arrival and the hotel jeep would be waiting in the parking lot. One has to leave his car there, the hotel also arranges for driver accomodation which is complimentary. On arrival one is greeted with a fresh glass of rhododendron juice which is so refreshing. There are 3 rooms and about 7 tents. Tents are exciting and look cosy too, though there is no fireplace meaning it is too cold in the severe months. Ask for room #1 which is the best of the lot. There is no electricity but solar powered lamps are available. Kerosene lamps lit the doorways, walkways and the toilets. Hot water is only available in buckets. Once the initial apprehensions are relaxed, one would definately enjoy the forest ambience, the warm room with the fireplace lit, the sunset viewed from the upper level and even the no power - no communication with the outer world. Since the hotel is closeted in the forest, only partial view of the Himalayan range is observed from the room. For viewing the entire range one had to visit the Zero point.
Best Experience: The strong point of this hotel is the service. The ever smiling Govindji is always at ones service and will make up for all the comforts of life one might be missing. The food is very good, Rameshji will never let one down. The staff and the manager Mr Rana will always be checking out on you, remember there is no intercom. And buckets of hot water is always available on demand. The lovely treks in the forest during the day is absolutely wonderful. The zero point is closer to the hotel through a forest trail which is a must try. Short walks through the trails and even down the road is a pleasant experience.
Worst Experience: No bad experience. But a means of communication with the hotel staff from the room would be a good idea.
I visited Club Mahindra property of Binsar in January 2015 with my family. Overall it was a nice experience. Rooms are clean, food is good. You can have a day package of approx 700 which includes breakfast and dinner. They provide lot of varieties in food and staff is good. Since it was January temperature was around 3-4 degrees. Heaters were not that effective so after complaining few times they provided few more heaters. One should definitely visit Zero Point, though drive is very risky and you need to trek for around 20-30 mins to reach there. It is worth visiting Zero point as it gives an amazing view of Himalaya.
I visited with my friends. We were looking for somewhere between a relaxing journey and an adventurous trip. This location offered us both. The scene from our balcony was pretty great. The hotel staff was very helpful. They had a badminton court and a table tennis table. Went for trekking for two days out of 4 day stay. The rooms have a mini fridge, microwave and a LCD TV. We didn't know until last day but there is a great restaurant which is not very expensive and offers great food. The name of the restaurant is ' flavour of kumaon ' and everyone should try their food at least once. They will also deliver your food to your hotel. They serve non-veg too. The rooms in the hotel were also pretty good. When you go, just ask the staff to give you room with clear mountain view. It would be good if you carry some mosquito repellent cream or spray. Hotel staff also arranges for a different group activity every evening for their guests.
