The Westin Hotels are premium chain of Elite 5 star hotels across the Globe and they truly deserve to be one. Having loved their properties for quite a while now, I can confidently say that your stay in Westin shall always be worth the money you spend. Warm Hospitality, Great Service and luxury personified - that's how your stay is going to be. Of all Westin I've visited - I've personally loved the one at Hyderabad.
Located in the heart of Hitec City - the location is excellent and pretty close to the Ring Road connecting the airport. Can be great options for personnel visiting Hitec City for work related purpose. The reception is massive and huge. On the left you have the Seasonal Tastes - the all day dining and towards your right is the Mix @36.
You are leaded to the reception where the guys are pretty happy to help. The rooms are spacious and have all amenities. Very classic and plain interiors giving the rooms a very vibrant touch - very soothing and serene. I love their Lotus flower backgrounds in each of the rooms - so typically Westin.
The Upholstery, sheets and mattress are of very good quality too. The bathrooms are pretty spacious with bath Tub facility.
Please note that since they have an International Concept to their decor and fittings - they do not have water rinser in their bathrooms and neither have a lock. So one must be careful of the same. The Snack Bar has lot of good options for one to nibble upon. I love their Room Service. Very quick and prompt.
The guys are always so happy to help and very courteous too. When at Westin Hyderabad you can expect a calm and hassle free stay. Coming to Food - this is just WoW! I love the buffet breakfast at Seasonal Tastes. Excellent Variety and probably the best I've ever had anywhere in any 5 Star! From Waffles to Pizzas to Chile Bhatures and Medu Wadas, you shall never get such an array to choose from anywhere else. The buffet breakfast comes in complimentary.
The Hotel has a parlour, an excellent Spa, some showrooms and a huge Swimming Pool. It also has a kids play area for the kids to enjoy and have fun. All in all - Westin is a great option for a stay in Hyderabad.
Its my personal favorite and I always recommend the same to people. Its also worth every penny spend and one should come and experience the luxury here. Kudos to Westin Management for maintaining a great and supportive staff!
Me and my husband visited Hyderabad in the first week of September 2015. We both wanted a short break from routine. We stayed at Best Western Ashoka Hotel for three days and enjoyed every moment.
We booked the executive room. The room was clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. Cooling of the A/C was good. Ample of lights in the room. Coffee maker and mini fridge was available. Safety vault was also present. Washroom was clean and had all the accessories like shampoo, body wash, soap, body moisturizer, hair dryer, comb, dental kit, towels, etc. There is a gym facility available in the hotel.
Every morning for breakfast they arrange a huge buffet spread. It consisted of variety of dishes like Poha, Idli, flavored idli, Medu vada, upma, sambar, 2 types of chutneys, tea, coffee, boiled eggs, cornflakes, bread, cup cakes, fresh fruits cut into pieces, boiled corn and peanuts. The buffet menu was same on all the three days. Breakfast was very tasty. Service was very slow by the waiters who used to serve water or clean the table. We never got a chance to order main course so cannot comment on taste. Observed that the prices in the menu card were bit on higher side.
The front office staff were very quick. During check-in we just had to wait for 15 minutes to complete the formalities. Same was the case while checking-out. The only problem we faced was cable connection was not working in our room. We had informed this to the reception on second day but unfortunately it was not fixed.
The best thing about this hotel is it's location. Birla Temple and Hussain Sagar Lake are very nearby. Since, it is located on the main road you can roam around till late night without fear. You get autos very easily from the gate. Also, the bus to Ramoji film city stops just outside the hotel. There are lots of good restaurants around where you can reach by taking an auto within ten minutes from this hotel. There is lot of traffic and honking in the early mornings. So choose a room away from main road side. This hotel being a business hotel you will see lot of office crowd on weekdays.
Summer holidays have come and my children are going about the place creating a ruckus. They watch TV for long durations and have unleashed their wild energies on to us. We could not send them outside for it is too hot and we are silently enduring this massive assault somehow or the other. I got a sudden guilty feeling remembering my childhood and how we spent the summer holidays. There were no summer camps back then, and we had all the time to have fun. So, I decided to take them to one of the family resorts in Hyderabad on a weekend. I went about checking all resorts and found that Palm Exotica is one of the best resorts in Hyderabad that had a lot of activities for children. I checked the website and found out that it had south largest adventure park. Back in our days, all the adventure we had was to climb our mango tree and steal some mangoes. Though we thoroughly enjoyed that activity, we never had an opportunity to play some of the cool games that are available now. Now, a selfish motive too. Even I wanted to see how the ride on an ATV 250 cc would look like! As for my kids, both of them were quite naughty and were enthusiastic about these fun games. My wife was keenly looking for a day out too. And so our journey to Palm Exotica was finalized. We drove there early in the morning and had breakfast there. After breakfast, we started to explore all the places. We first had a great swim and relaxed for a while. Later, as the day was getting hotter, we quickly reached the adventure park. The first ride our kids took was the land sobbing. The tumble was quite exciting for them and they laughed hysterically. All the while I was clicking pictures and my wife was a little anxious. My elder son wanted to try his hand at rifle shooting, and I gave company to him. My daughter wanted a horse ride and my wife accompanied her. Then, we played a lot of games like archery, paintball shooting, artificial rock climbing, and air hockey. Though I was tired by that time, I still had some energy left for my ATV 250 cc ride. I sent my family to the restaurant and told them that I would join them in a while. Quickly I took two laps on the ATV 250 cc and that ride made me remember my youthful days! After all the activity, we settled down for a quite lunch that was very delicious and sumptuous. We lazed the rest of the afternoon. We had tea at 4:00 PM and headed home. I am quite glad that I had visited Palm Exotica before other resorts in Hyderabad as they have so many facilities, and one visit enough to see all the places there. In fact, I am looking forward to come with my friends for a game of T20 cricket in the day/night stadium!
stayed at two OYO rooms properties last month to understand the value they offer, pros and cons of staying with them and what is their promise to travellers. I also spoke in detail with Kavikrut, Chief Growth Officer at OYO on why a traveller should stay with OYO. ? If you live in any large city in India, you are probably not very far from a hotel touting the name of OYO rooms. OYO has expanded rapidly in recent months and has a large number of budget accommodation choices, now spread over hundred cities across India. OYO Rooms proposition: predictability, availabily, accessibility, affordability Kavikrut, Chief Growth Officer at OYO confirms that they are rapidly expanding and bringing in a large number of hotels under their brand name. This is evident when you look for a room on their website. A quick search for Delhi returns 223 hotels. In Bangalore, they have 154 and 59 in Ahmedabad. They also have a presence in holiday destinations such as Ooty, Alleppey or Darjeeling, though in much smaller numbers. The rapid expansion has been possible by working with existing budget to mid-range hotels and branding them as OYO. The hotels are managed by the property-owners according to a given set of standards and are marketed by OYO. According to Kavikrut, having a large number of choices ensures of the four key values that OYO intends to provide. Others being affordability, accessibility and predictability. A considerable number of are priced at Rs. 999. On the higher side, prices rarely go beyond Rs. 3, 000. OYO intends to work with properties within this budgets range in large cities, while they may add more expensive accommodations in leisure holiday destinations. For the predictability part, OYO makes some minor modifications and improvements to the rooms to fit to their standards. They boast of a 250-checkpoint standardization in their rooms that offers some certainty to the guests walking in. This includes the facilities available in the room such as the type of linen, mattress, air-conditioning, WiFi, type of showers and consummable materials. A frequent quality audit conducted by an OYO staff at the property ensures that everything is maintained in order. How much of these work as claimed? I had a chance to stay at two OYO properties last month to discover this myself. Staying with OYO rooms – review and experience My first stay was at OYO Premium Connaught Place, which also goes with the name Hotel Emarald. The check-in was efficient and I was led to my rooms in no time. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The place had a premium-budget feel and there wasn’t much to complain. Here is a quick audit of the room.
I had opportunity to stay in Taj Deccan last month when I visited Hyderabad on a business trip. The hotel is located at Banjara hills, the centre of the city. The front desk received well. The rooms were spacious, neat and clean. The décor of the rooms and halls was also good. The beds seemed to be some what hard. I asked them for soft beds as I had back pain. They told me to adjust for that night and they changed it the next morning. The Bath rooms were kept clean and had 24 hours hot water facility.
The TV in my room was not working. The AC was good. The WiFi was slow. They started serving breakfast around 7 though it was good it would be better if they serve around 6:30 as it is important for the people like me who went on business work. The overall experience was good. The staff served politely. I would definitely recommend the hotel to my relatives and friends.
