The approach road to the Deolo Cliff Eco Resort is thrilling, even the driver of our Tata Sumo stopped and inspected the last cliff to drive home. We planned overnight stay only but rued our decision as the spellbound view of Teesta from the rooms. The green misty horizon gave soothing effect to our eyes and body as we went from sweltering heat of May in Kolkata. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, some having natural vegetation inside as the cliff of the Hill formed the inside wall of the rooms. Although the surroundings are not well maintained, we liked the ruggedness and the simplicity of food. It is a bit costly but you have to accept it staying in core nature. Deolo Park is only 20-25 mins walk and eco park is also nearby. During May the weather was foggy, but it will be marvellous during approaching winter (OCT-DEC). If you want to feel nature and is not market-maniac, it is your place to enjoy.
I would request the owners to make arrangement for more good blankets and better upkeep of embankments. Take care of your drinking water (stock to be lifted from NJP) and insect repellent.
The hotel is situated at a very short distance from the main motor stand. It makes the tourists save the trouble of finding the hotel. The rooms were very clean and properly maintained. We had stayed in non-AC rooms. The hotel staff were very friendly and kind. I was very much impressed by the hotel services. You can also visit the local market as it is not very far from the hotel. The most important of all is the steamed chicken momos of this hotel. They serve fantastic soup along side with it. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel.
The overall experience at the hotel was good. I visited this hotel in the month on December. The terminal was good. The site of the hotel was good. The outlook of the hotel was average. The front office and reception service of the hotel was good and the staff were co-operative. There was no delay in check in and checkout. The food and drink provided by the hotel was good. There was complimentary breakfast provided. The service provided was very average. The rooms were good and spacious. The overall service was good.
I was here with my wife and my six years old daughter, for two nights during our one week trip to Gangtok-Kalimpong-Darjeeling. The stay was more than what we expected in a small town like Kalimpong. The staff and the owner were so very helpful and full of hospitality. It would not be fair enough, if I compare this with a five star hotel. Mrs. Pradhan has taken care of the smallest details, so well that it would not have been possible for any commercial housekeeping. Her personal care, the food, the cleanliness all were more than enough to fall in love with.
Very thoughtfully, the dinners were served inside the dining hall and the breakfast in the garden. The food was so tasty that we ate twice our usual diet here. Yes, in the entire week long trip, the best stay, the best food, service and Mrs. Pradhan in person was our everlasting memory. We will never forget the days spent here.
The best place to stay in Kalimpong is at the Silver Oaks Hotel. It's a premium hotel, well-located with helpful staff. I had stayed there for one night on September 23, 2014. Almost none of the hotels in the small town of Kalimpong accept credit card payments but this hotel does so I was very happy. I got a warm welcome with a traditional stole around my neck and a glass of cherry brandy.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. My room was absolutely lovely and the food was great. Besides the normal facilities offered by a premium hotel, this hotel is well-equipped with a library, a well-stocked bar, and an in-house movie service. There's a small business centre too. The hotel decors as well as the garden are beautiful. It's the best hotel in Kalimpong for an enjoyable stay!
