Good place to stay with excellent hospitality. The location is very good though it's little far from the city. Morning is pleasant with sound of some religious songs. Night is beautiful with a splendid view of twilight of the hills. It was a good stay with homely atmosphere.
The hotel was located outside the city. The hotel was located outside the city. The parking place was available in the hotel. The ambience of the hotel was good. The check-in and check-out was on time. I didn't taste the food in the hotel. The overall, service was very good in the hotel. I had visited this hotel with my family for relaxation trip. I would not suggest anything to this hotel. The activities were not available in the hotel.
The hotel was located conveniently and easy in travelling. The staff were good in services and the appearance of the hotel was good. They did not provide any complimentary. The room given to me was good with all the required amenities in proper working condition. There was no delay during check-in and check-out process. The hotel was worth for the money.
In Oct'13 I began my tour from Kalimpong and stayed one night in Monarch Hotel. It is located a little away from the main market place (a 5-7 minutes drive) and thereby very quiet & peaceful. I booked two Plush Super Deluxe rooms. The rooms are big & spacious, clean and airy with all basic amenities such as wall to wall carpet, CTV, wardrobe, geyser, etc. Although it is basically a double bedded room but the bed size is sufficiently big to accommodate three adults. Bathroom is neat & clean with running H/C water. The owner of the property Mr. Deepraj Pradhan is a very nice person and the service staff are also very prompt, polite & well behaved. The hotel has own restaurant inside it's campus. The quality of food is also good. The main attractions are the balcony behind the rooms and the terrace adjoining to the dining hall. From both these places as well as from the said rooms, one can see the Mt. K peeping over a mountain arc and the river Teesta below. Apart from these, a wide nature view is always with you. I would like to stay there again in my next tour to Kalimpong.
We were returning from Lava, two hours distant from Kalimpong. Our itinerary was fixed. A day break in Kalimpong. So we were excited because, Lava is a remote place and offers lots of nature. Nature lovers will get a paradise out of it. I am also a nature lover, but found that spending one night at the place has given me a satirical experience, which I need to break by going to a place having lots of people, shops, busy roads etc. Kalimpong is perfect for that. Reached Kalimpong and searching for hotel and someone suggested this hotel. I was not looking for a 5 star but a decent and clean hotel, which I got. Rooms are quite spacious and furniture are well built and decorated well. I asked for Lunch and got it in 30 minutes, which is good as per me. Food is also tasty as per my taste buds. If you are not looking for a royal stay at this beautiful hill station, you can take a chance in this hotel.
