Visited Kanyakumari on the 27th and 28th of Feb and stayed at Sea View. Had the best hotel experience. I requested for an early check-in and the hotel promptly arranged for the same. While our deluxe room was getting ready, the staff arranged for an alternative room where we could get fresh and as soon the deluxe room was ready we were shifted to the deluxe room. We had booked a sea facing deluxe room and had requested for the top floor room. The staff accommodated this request also. The rooms as well as the toilet and bathroom are well maintained and clean. Felt very comfortable using them.
The best part of the hotel is the view from the adjoining window of the room. From our 4th floor room, we could view the sunrise as well as the Vivekananda memorial and Thiruvalluvar statue. The view is simply awesome, sitting in the comforts of your room. I could capture some awesome time lap snaps using my iPad.
Adjoining to the hotel is a fishermen colony and early in the morning all the preparatory activities and they moving into the bay can be seen. My son enjoyed the scene quite a lot. The cool fresh breeze of the ocean is so refreshing that we never used either the fan or the AC.
The hotel staff were very courteous and offered us quite a lot of complementary water bottles and tea/coffee (beyond what is in the package). The staff from the front desk manager to the doorman to the lift operator to the cleaning staff are extremely courteous and did not demand a single Rupee. The buffet breakfast has a good spread of mostly south Indian dishes with fresh cut fruits and juice. The hotel is within walking distance from the main temple and beach. The bus stand and railway station are also within walking distance.
One more thing that may be useful is, bang at 5 am, the church in the adjoining street starts playing some melodious religious songs. No need for any alarm and people can get fresh and get ready for the sunrise.
Just near the exit of the hotel, some 50 meters away there is a very nice Delhi-Punjabi Dhaba which serves excellent North Indian food. Never tasted anything like that in Bangalore.
Overall it was a fantastic experience and I strongly recommend this hotel for all the age groups.
NOTE: For those who seek calm and quiet experience, do not miss the visit to Vivekanandapuram and the walk to the inside beach. Unforgettable experience.
I stayed here on the month of October 2015. Well maintained spacious rooms & bathrooms with friendly staff are the positives of this hotel, but if we want in need of hot water, it will be available only between 5-10 am. We. We can see the sunrise at the roof top of the hotel at morning. Beach is very beautiful when we watch it in room. Taking room in 4 th floor is better for a nice view. Medical facilities, WiFi are the other advantages. The cost for everything is quite high in Kanyakumari except for your stay at this hotel. Because they are the one who charges very less amount for lodging when compared to the other cheap hotels in Kanyakumari. To feel the nature present at Kanyakumari to the fullest, you must step in to this hotel at least once in your life time, because the elegant view of the rising sun can be seen from the hotel since they are located very nearer to the sea shore.
I stayed here with my wife and her parents from the wee hours of 31st July, 11 to 2nd Aug, 11. This is a TTDC property spread over a few acres of land. The lodging facility is beautifully scattered across different spots within the property. The airy open spaces, verdant plants & trees, strutting peahens & peacocks, meandering tiny roads, perpetual reverberation of splashing waves, the tang of the sea - all of these within the property allow for a wholesome stay. The hotel rooms are spacious, neat, and well-appointed. The highest point of the lodging facility is the close view of the sea that the balcony the rooms offer. It is so pleasant that the feeling of sticking to the balcony is, indeed, over-powering. Some of the other facilities that deserve a mention are the coffee/tea at the door-step as early as 6 am (without asking for it), aqua-guard machines at the ground floor, and a reliable taxi facility for sight-seeing. The most disappointing part is the restaurant which is dingy and ill-kept. Other services can be good, better, best - depending on how much you tip.
Best Experience: The best part was the pleasant & healthy time we spent by squatting in the balcony, sipping coffee/tea, against the invigorating spectacle of the sea.
Worst Experience: The Tamilnadu hotel's restaurant was very dingy and cheerless. When we dropped in for the morning coffee, we were surprised to see one of the tables uncleared of last night's plates with food-remnants.
We went to Kanyakumari and I was really excited about my trip since this was my first beach experience plus my first dead end of India as shown on the map. The hotel wasn't difficult to locate at all. Its location was perfect, right in the heart of the city.
All the influential tourist places including Vivekananda Rock, Sunset and Sunrise Point, Triveni Sangam, fish aquarium, everything was so close by. We didn't have to take separate transportation services to visit these places. It was like all the main tourist spots were at a walking distance which is why I rated this hotel as 5.5.
I didn't get a chance to use the pool, so can't talk about that. I'll talk about other amenities like there was a time when we had to shorten our trip due to some personal reasons and we had to cancel our previous booking and get a new bus booking. None of us had internet in our phones, so we asked at the reception if there was a cyber cafe nearby as we had some issues related to our booking and that we really need to book a seat in the bus ASAP. Those people were so generous that they instructed us about the cyber cafe but said that it was very sunny and it's quite far so we can use the hotel wifi. Generosity is highly appreciated especially in today's world. Logging in as guest, the speed was slow and we told them about this cause it was really necessary to get the first bus in the evening cause we had to go a long way. They logged in through their secure connection which helped us to get the work done real quick. The hotel staff also guided us about the most famous tourist attractions as well as arranged a nice cheap transportation for us. The housekeeping service was good too. Whenever we asked they used to come immediately to clean our rooms. They also told us about the good restaurants nearby and didn't just boast about theirs.
The room was exactly as it appeared to be in the pictures and described in the website. The room was perfect for three people without an extra bed. Weather was hot in Kanyakumari but inside our room it didn't feel that hot, felt kinda relaxed. View was really good as it was facing towards the side from where the complete beauty of this place was visible.
I would just like people to know that you should definitely visit Kanyakumari once in your lifetime. Maybe you guys would have gone to Goa and other places where you have experienced the beach environment but Kanyakumari is the goddess of all. You should try to get a booking at Hotel Trisea, though difficult but try to get it in advance because its location is so perfect that it lies in the heart of the city, all tourist places are nearby. Hotel staff is very courteous, generous and all your requests are handled immediately. I am so sorry about the restaurants, I really don't remember the name but the Chettinad cuisine there is very good. It's like take a left from the hotel, walk straight and then take a left again and you will be able to see that restaurant. Looks like a five-star but the prices are optimal plus the view adds to the beauty of the restaurant and to the taste of your food.
I wish I could have said there was something I didn't like about this hotel. Oh yes! The food is in this hotel is little expensive and a little bit oily. So we chose another one.
Me and my wife decided to visit Kanyakumari. This is the most awesome place I have ever visited. And our stay just added extra stars to our trip. The view from our room is awesome. The terrace is the perfect place for a 360 degree glance of the entire area. You get to see of course the memorial, the statue, the lighthouse, the view tower and the streak of Windmills. All the popular spots are at walking distance from this hotel. That I really liked.
The room was clean and had television set with cable and bed was very comfortable. It had equipped with a pool which we didn't use.
Service was ok, I think the meal prices were too on high side for room service. Staff was ok.
My advice to the travellers, this is a nice hotel to stay, you can eat outside as there are plenty of options out there at a walking distance.
