Have been to Panchshil quite a few times last 5 years. This time, however, experience was much enhanced.
Atmosphere is totally professional with courteous staff at every stage. The interiors of the super deluxe rooms have just been enhanced and the eye to detail. Quality, use of materials done excellently. Very good and aesthetically pleasing rooms.
Gone with my family and very much pleased with the courteous behaviour of the entire staff. A well deserved compliment for a hotel in a culturally rich place like Kolhapur.
Only thing left in wanting is that the hotel is pure veg. Which left me wandering around for my non veg binges.
Thanks to its locations next to Tarabai Chowk, that too got handled pretty well with all famous eating joints nearby to the hotel. 5 stars for my experience.
My first & amazing experience in agro based resort
Heritage Resort is an agro-resort located amidst farmlands. It is located 20 km from Kolhapur city on the Kolhapur-Belgaum Highway. It was in May, 2015 when were travelling to Goa from Mumbai that we decided to stay in this resort. It was my first stay in an agro resort and it was amazing! The location and ambience combined with authentic Kolhapuri dishes made my day!
The resort offers good food, bar, free parking as well as fitness centre with gym. I was particularly impressed with the free parking since we were travelling with self-hire car. Fitness centre had decent number of machines for an average workout. The pool was not that impressive as it lacked a little maintenance. I hope that's handled by the resort management by now.
Advice to travellers: Please note that being located in farmlands, you might face pests and insects especially during the night.
The good things first: The location is very good, in the heart of the city but at a very calm place so no disturbance of the traffic. Exterior is very good like a 3 star hotel. Th food quality and taste is excellent. Also room service is very prompt. They serve any type of meal in your room within 10 to 15 minutes. The staff is very co-operative and polite.
Now the bad things: First of all I doubt about the allocation of the room type allotted to me. I had booked for Executive A/C room but the room I stayed in did not seem like the one I booked. The room had AC but the overall appearance of the room was not good. It was an old room and not cleaned up to the mark. It has a good amount of dust on the furniture especially on the writing table and back of the bed.
The design of the bathroom was bad. The WC was placed near the drainage hole and the water taps were in front of the WC and away from the drainage hole. If you bath before using the WC, the whole bathroom gets wet and we can not use WC. These two facilities should be placed in such a way that the area near WC remains dry after using the water taps.
With all above situation I feel that the room rent is slightly higher than what the facilities they have given. If you are on a business trip it is OK to stay for one night in the hotel but a big NO if you are with your family.
I visit Kolhapur quite often to meet my friends. One of my friends got engaged in October 2015. The dinner was arranged in Raysons! After the dinner, I stayed in Raysons Hotel for that night.
The hotel is a 3-star business class hotel. My room had LCD TV, mini-bar and safety locker. The locker was very useful for me as I kept my Govt. IDs in it while I was visiting other places in Kolhapur. The location is also in the heart of the city and I visited a number of places early in the morning next day. Mahalaxmi Temple was one such majestic place nearby!
The only complaint was that the rooms did not have very clean towels. They were a bit dusty. However, the service was so awesome that on one call and within 3 minutes, I got a fresh pair of towel! Toiletries were also of good quality!
Tip to travellers: Pease visit nearby places and try the food in Rayson's multi-cuisine restaurant. Stuffed paranthas and Paneer Masala will make your day. I found Dal Makhni average though but opinions might vary. Overall, I would want to stay again in this hotel and try their breakfast which I missed last time!
I checked into this hotel based on recommendations of old customers but never did I think that it will be such a great experience. The services of every one was better than you can get in a five star resort. The check-in and checkout took all but 2 mins each. The front office staff are very polite, courteous and professional. Every employee of the hotel makes it his personal duty to give you the best service. Room service is also very prompt and efficient. Also the food is so good, you don't need to go anywhere else to get authentic Kolhapuri cuisine. Chinese and north Indian delicacies are also up to the mark. The hotel also has ample parking with round the clock security. On and all, it was one of the best services I encountered. I would rate service 5 stars. Keep it up. Go blindly to this hotel and be prepared to be floored by their service.
