In 2-star hotels, below are some necessary conditions that should be applied:-
At least 25% rooms should have Air-Conditioners.
Minimum Size of Bathrooms should be 30 Square Feet.
2-Star categories should have minimum one dining room serving all meals. Room service not necessary.
Note: The Ministry of Tourism may review and revise the cities falling under the Grade 'A' & Grade 'B' from time to time.
Grade A: Delhi*, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad/ Secunderabad.
*Delhi would include the hotels falling in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, NOIDA and Greater NOIDA.
Grade B: Cities in the rest of the country excluding Grade 'A' cities.
Percentage of supervisory staff should be minimum 20%.
Percentage of skilled staff should be minimum 20%. The supervisory or the skilled staff may have training or skill certification as follows:
i. Degree / diploma from Central or state IHM's / FCI's or from NCHMCT affiliated IHM's or from other reputed hospitality schools.
ii. Skill training certificate issued under the guidelines and scheme of the Ministry of Tourism.
Newspapers should be available in the lounge.
A telephone for incoming & outgoing calls in the room is desirable but NOT mandatory. 2-Star category hotels may go through a telephone exchange.
I had been to this hotel in the month of October 2015. The appearance of the hotel is good and we did the booking directly. The reception system was very good. Overall service was good and the room was excellent. We did not opt for food in the hotel and did not observe any of the activity in the hotel. The location of the hotel was in the city. The reception people were friendly and the hotel ambience was good. The tariff for the hotel is costly. The room good with basic amenities and they provided good hot water facility. The lightning of the room was good and they provided Wi-Fi facility but the network was not proper. Overall experience was very good and I will recommend this hotel for other travellers but it is costly. I would suggest them to have the Indian food and can reduce the tariff for the hotel.
The hotel was easily accessible and the staff has given a good service. The restaurant served us good and hygiene food. The front desk staff guided us about the places to see around Kushalnagar and Madikeri. Overall, it's a good hotel in our budget. As the hotel was in the mall travellers need not to go out side of the complex for any needs. A super market, Jeweller showroom, footwear shop etc are located in the mall itself. Parking is also available.
The location of the hotel was good. The activities were not arranged by the hotel. The behavior of staff was good in the hotel. The allotted room was spacious with clean. The variety of food was available in the hotel. There was no delay in check-in and check-out. I had visited this hotel with family. I don't have any suggestion for this hotel.
Was on one day tour to Coorg. This hotel was suggested by a friend. It was easy to locate in Kushalnagar town on the way to Golden Temple. Rooms were of standard quality but bathroom was not good. Bathroom fittings and floor was not good enough for the price. Noise from the neighbor bathroom was another issue. Bed and cot was of good quality which provided a good night's sleep. You can not see a restaurant menu in room you have to ask for it. You will get a complimentary breakfast. Food was good. Totally a good experience but room tariff is a bit high for the amenities they provided.
