Parking facility was available there and it was very spacious. Servicing staff was really good and services were prompt. I had no problem during check-in and check-out facility. Interior and exterior look of the hotel was green and nice. Room was neat, tidy and spacious. Pillow, washroom and other things were in clean condition. AC, TV and other daily use items were available there and functioning properly but geyser was not there. They provided hot water facility in bucket. Sea view was visible from the room. I stayed there two days. Staff of the hotel was cleaning the room regularly. Restaurant facility was available there and it was very nice. Quality of the food was best. Many varieties were available there like North Indian, Chinese, continental, etc. Price wise, the food was okay. Spa, bar, swimming pool and other relaxation activities were available there and they all were well-maintained. Temple was available in the surrounding of the hotel. Location of the hotel was very good and it was situated inside the city and near to the sea but near about 23km far from the railway station and 12 km far from the bus stand. I faced no problem to find this hotel. They arranged cab facility for sightseeing trip. I visited there with my family in June month 2013. Overall, my destination in Mandarmani was valuable. Surrounding of the hotel was peaceful and I liked it. I would like to recommend this hotel to other travellers.
Hotel's location was best but there was a problem that the front way closed there due to water so they should provide back entry in the hotel. Swimming pool was good there. Many activities like swings, etc. were very good in this hotel. Room and room service were nice there. Beach view was visible from the room. Breakfast was nice there. Bed sheets, blankets, and all were good in the room. It is a very good hotel to stay with family. Hotel was located on the beach but far away from railway station and bus stop. Connectivity was not there so we have to arrange a private vehicle from Bus Stop. Behaviour of the hotel staff was very good. Room boy and manager were very nice there. No problem in check-in and check-out time. Look of the hotel was very good from inside and outside. It was very spacious. I took morning breakfast and dinner in this hotel. Food was very good in this hotel. Many items like veg, non-veg, continental, South Indian, etc. were provided by them. Food price was reasonable. Restaurant was not there nearby the hotel. Very good parking space was there. Car was arranged by them for sightseeing. I liked activities there very much. We enjoyed a lot there. Mandarmani is a good place.
My trip to Mandamani, a memorable experience. I received a call in the middle of the day from my cousin and my aunt, who live abroad currently. They wanted to explore their beloved West Bengal before they packed their bags and said goodbye to India. I, being a pretty good online researcher, started looking for places and came across the pristine beaches of Mandarmani. Without any further delay I started looking for hotels. This is when I came across holidayiq.com. I used other sites too, but this site gave me better access to crucial information to the hotels i shortlisted (thanks to the simple 'Get info by mobile/email'). All the members of this trip were ladies; four of us, to be precise. So the prime focus of my search was a safe and decent place above everything. I looked at the pictures provided by other helpful reviewers and fell in love with Digante. The place seemed decent and fit our budget too. Upon calling the hotel, the staff was very helpful and also kept their following up on my queries quite professionally. I booked a room at an extremely economical rate over the phone. Part of the payment had to be pre-made and to our convenience, an executive from the hotel came to our doorsteps and gave us a receipt. The hotel also provides pick up and drop from Digha upon request. Our journey commenced on 10 July 2013. After reaching Dighqa, we informed the hotel and they swiftly sent us a car within 10 mins. It was spacious, well-maintained AC car. The driver was very polite and decent. This eased our paranoid minds quite a bit. We drove on the slim red roads and then our eyes met the beautiful vast ocean. We drove parallel to the sea for a few meters before we reached the beautiful entrance of Digante. This journey took us around 45mins- 1hr. We went into the reception area which is a thatched roof hut adorned with beautiful flowers, wines and dragon flies. The natural beauty of the place is a breath of fresh air for any city person! The hotel staff was very polite. Each guest gets a personal attendant, our attendant was a wonderful young lad; very prompt and helpful. We were led to an AC room with two queen-sized beds, a TV, cupboard and a dressing table. Very clean. Even the bathroom was properly maintained. Bed sheets, towels, pillow covers were spotless. My only complain was that they did not have running hot water, i.e. no geyser. Another con is that we reached the hotel right after lunch time and were famished. But the hotel does not provide snacks well before 7pm to 8 pm. Now coming to the food. It was absolutely DELICIOUS! The cook is well -versed with cooking spicy as well as non-spicy food. So the food is prepared the way you want it! This is an absolutely delightful specialty of Digante. The food is unmatched and wonderful. The entire small plantation of trees and the hammocks hanging by the trunks at the entrance add a dreamy touch to this place. The white swans moving around while fluttering their wings , the roaring sea at your footsteps and the sparkling clean beach; what more can one ask? I give it full marks for being respectful and friendly towards women travelers, especially. We bid adieu to Digante on 12 July 2013. We lived a dream for a couple of days and I will always cherish the memories I made there. I will definitely go back there.
The Sana beach is located in Mandarmani, near Kolkata. Good connectivity available.
By bus - Can board any Digha bound bus and get off at Chaulkhola. From Chaulkhola, a car can be hired to the hotel. The front desk can also arrange for pickup at a price. It's about 15 km to the hotel. Rates carry. So bargain around Rs. 500/-
By train - Can reach Kathi by train from Howrah. Get out of the train and bang outside PF 1 you can find a lot of cars for hire to Mandarmani. It's about 40 km.
Roads are in good condition.
The Sana beach is a nice place with a variety of accommodation types which can be checked from their website.
The positives: The place is clean and the service is excellent. Food is excellent. The place has a variety of options to keep your adrenalin pumping. You can play badminton, table tennis or use the swimming pool. There is a pool table in the bar as well.
The place has its own mini forest (Jhau Bon). This allows you to enjoy nature anytime within the secured premises.
Bang outside the gate is a small shack which caters to your basic needs like a seafood lunch (local preparation), coconut water and other beverages. You can enjoy these with the Bay of Bengal in front.
Since Sana is located at the extreme point of Mandarmani, you can walk down the beach to the confluence (Mohona).
The negatives: No running hot water. But they provide you the same in buckets and do it real fast.
The rooms are a bit overpriced.
The garden facing cottages look great from outside but small windows give you a claustrophobic feeling.
All in all, it's a nice place to spend your weekend. So go ahead and enjoy the beach.
If you are a beach lover, an adventurous, want to enjoy the wane of sea in the evening, sight seeing of rising sun at the morning and the setting at the dawn, surprising accents of millions of crabs for their abode, Merino beach resort is a must.
It is situated at the centre of Mandarmani, being one of the large and fast developing seaside resort village of West Bengal, red crabs crawling around the 13 km long beach is a special attraction, argued to be the longest drivable (drive in) beach in India. Food specially Bengal cuisine is excellent. Service rendered by Merino was very prompt. The location and rooms/resorts provide a direct view to the sea and one can feel the waves and the sea breeze.
The lawn is an attraction of the resort. If one needs to beat the heat of daily stressed life, and needs to chill out for relaxation, then a stay at Merino is a must. The room rates are reasonable and the interior is also luxurious. In a nutshell it is a Big coverage in a small package.
