Pros: Located in a very peaceful location and environment. A decent place for families to stay. Ample parking. Can easily take hundred cars. Affordable prices. Helpful and polite front desk
Cons: 1. Not very spacious rooms. 2. Geysers don't function properly. Primitive switch boards and fans used. 3. Rooms are not cleaned. The balconies are very untidy. 4. No room service available. You wont get anything to eat in here. But that shouldn't be a major concern since all kinds of eateries are at stone throw distance.
Overall, it appears that this guest-house is not maintained directly by the government but by some private contractor who does an average job.
Will I stay here again if I got to Mantralayam? The answer is ' may be, Yes'.
Like anyone else, our purpose of the visit was spiritual to seek the blessings of Swami Raghavendra, apart from the temple and the place, everything went completely wrong in our decision to have chosen Kalpavruksha. As usual, before our travel we started to google for accommodation and unfortunately landed with the choice of Kalpavruksha, which turned out to be late realization. When we contacted them for accommodation, the main person who interacted with us was Mr. Prasad Rao(believe Manager cum Owner). We booked 2 rooms(2 bedroom and 3 bedroom) with clear understanding on the rent as Rs. 1500 and Rs. 2000 for 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom respectively.
Once we reached the place and looked at the accommodation, the toilet facility in the 2 bedroom was pathetic, very narrow-cramped and unclean. The drain-pipe from washbasin was openly flowing on the bathroom floor and we immediately asked them to shift us to 3 bedroom, which was comparatively better.
Now comes the climax, when we were settling down the bill, they gave a bill with jacked up rates(than what was agreed earlier), stating Rs. 2000 and Rs. 2500. And the best part being moving, charges of Rs. 500(i. e. Moving from 2 bedroom to 3 bedroom). There were different people at reception right from check-in till check-out and there was completely chaos within their communication and coordination. They were quite arrogant and rude in their behavior, when we tried much amicably to sort out the issue, as it was kind of day-robbery on what they had committed initially and what they are demanding during settlement. Mr. Prasad, had shown a split personality on how he coordinated initially to get the business from us and once done he spoke in high pitch and unwanted words pushing us to settle the bill with this jagged up price. We being strangers to that place, couldn't confront these people beyond, with their goondaism behavior.
Also note, they are clever enough to ask advance amount from us, asking to transfer the amount to their AC, they use all possible gimmick words saying, it's busy season-you need to pay the advance amount while booking otherwise you will not get room.
When it comes to the accommodation, it's not that great, the beds are okay, in fact the bed spreads were torn here and there, the blanket was smelly-not really sure if they wash it with every user-we kept it away. The building is a typical normal building and don't expect anything more looking at the photos and their description on amenities.
Believe I conveyed the needed message, as experience speaks, please look for the Raghavendra Mutt accommodation as a first choice. They have constructed ample buildings with neat facility.
It\'s a nice experience and worth stay at pankaja paradise. It is located very near to Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, just 2 min walk from this place. The A/C rooms are very comfortable and all the rooms are very clean. Good Hygiene.
Best Experience: I had gone to mantralayam along with my family and ya friends too. We had made telophone booking and booked 4 rooms which included 3 A/c and 1 non A/c room. The rooms are maintained very clean and the staff are very cooperative. We were in need of water in the late night where in we thought of calling the room service, we called and we got it. Thats how the staff is very helpful all the time (24/7). It was a cloudy day when we had been to mantralya, but this hotel has got the boiler facility, so you will be getting hot water all the time. So no need to worry about it. Also there was power cut at mantralaya, but we had never felt so as long as we were there at our hotel room, it has got generator facility too. And most importantly the staff is so helpful that on your personal request they can even take you to special darshan at Sri Raghavendra Swamy temple, that was very kind and caring of these people.
I am frequent visitor to Mantralayam and my usual stay is always at Pavamana Udupi Residency unless the hotel is fully booked. The hotel is just about 3 - 4 yrs old and very well maintained. The hotel charges are really affordable and the prices vary depending on the time of year you are visiting Mantralayam.
The staff at the lodge are really courteous and are always eager to help you when you need. You also have a very good vegetarian restaurant just below the hotel. overall, this is one lodge I would suggest anyone to stay whenever they visit Mantralayam
Best Experience: The best things at hotel: 1) Affordable room rates 2) Cleanliness 3) Courteous staff 4) Generator facility as you have frequent power cuts
Hotel location is opposite to RTC bus stand. It is famous hotel in yemmiganur town. This town is near to mantralayam (raghavendra swamy temple). Hotel is very good and neat. House keeping is very fine. I have visited for market there. Food is very good, pure veg food and car parking is also available. Prices also reasonable. Responsible management about valuable things.
