The hotel is located on the mall road and have awesome view from rooms. We stayed here for two nights. Nice clean rooms and room service was good. The staff was very co-operative and helpful. Breakfast was just okay. Average food and its up to your choice and taste.
Overall it was a good experience and will recommend this hotel. It is a great place to stay with family, the food is great and has a nice variety. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Location of the resort is at a beautiful spot. It faces the Naini lake and looks beautiful both during day and night.
This is very nice property in Nainital. Amazing view of Naini lake from the Hotel. All staff are very supportive and always ready to assist you. Rooms, Food & Service is really appreciable. Thank you team Naini Retreat for making our tour so special.
It is a very good hotel to stay at. The best thing about this hotel is it's service. Very good staff, always ready to help you. The owner is also very kind. The stay in this hotel made my trip to Nanital more memorable.
I visited Nainital in April 2016 and stayed at the Happy Home from 23rd-25th April. The location of the hotel is very good, located at the start of Mall Road (when you enter Nainital from Haldwani). This hotel offers you a great view of the Naini lake and the scenes behind. The hotel has around 40-50 stairs from the entrance at the Mall Road to its reception. This is not a thing to worry if you are willing to climb the stairs since the hotel staff will take care of all your luggage.
The rooms are compact, comfortable and cosy. I stayed in Deluxe Lake View room at the first floor. Though the room was lake facing but not all the lake facing rooms offer the best of the view. The rooms at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor offer much better view. They gave me an option to shift to the higher floor but with an infant to carry all the time, I preferred staying at the first floor which is adjacent to the reception.
The food at the Hotel was simply delicious. If you are a Non-vegetarian, your taste buds are going to remember this hotel! Chicken Kali Mirch (Boneless) & Butter Chicken (Boneless) were just simply awesome. The buffet breakfast though did not have many things to choose from but whatever was available was well prepared and tasty as well. The room service was very fast and good. Room service guys were very polite and greeted us each time we crossed them.
Now, coming to the major problem which I faced. If you are self driving to Nainital, I would not recommend a stay at any hotel which is located at the Mall Road and does not have its own parking. Hotel Happy Home does not have its own parking. You do not have any option but to park your car at the main parking is located more than 1 km away from the hotel. The parking is full most of the times. You need to wait atleast 30-45 mins in the queue to get your car parked. Moreover, they charge Rs. 100/- each time you make an entry into the parking. Though the hotel has a driver but unfortunately the hotel driver was not available during my stay and with an infant, it was a horrible experience. Also, for each entry you make to the Mall Road, you will be charged Rs. 50/- at the Toll gate.
Summary: Overall a very good stay at the hotel except the Parking Nightmare. Not recommended for those who plan to drive on their own.
I visited there with my family in June 2012. Hotel location was not very convenient to reach there. It was little interior. Look of the hotel was good from inside and outside. Staff people were okay there but services were not good in this hotel. They were not quick in their services. Check-in and check-out was not done immediately. Room was neat and clean. All facilities like AC, TV, geyser, room heater, etc. were available in the room. TV remote was not working properly. Bed sheets, pillows, blankets, and washroom were neat and clean. Mountains view was available from the room. Food was so-so, not that great. Veg, non-veg, and buffet system were available there. Nothing was complimentary there. Quality of food was not that much good. Room tariff was little costly. No activity was there. Vehicle was taken by me from the hotel side for outing. It was not fully value for money. It was so-so. I will not recommend this hotel to other travellers. I have no suggestion about the hotel because nothing was better there. Nainital is a very good place. Location of the hotel was also very good. Appearance wise, it was good. Staff behaviour and their services were average. Room was also average. Food and drink was below average. Activities were average.
We planned to visit Nainital on October 2015 and were searching for decent hotel as we were a couple travelling to Nainital for first time. As it was dussera weekend there was rush of tourists and hotels were filling fast. We booked Pavilion viewing the pictures and feedback on internet. In reality the hotel is not as vast or so neat as it seems in pictures.
Pavilion hotel is located around 1 Km away from mall road, so location is almost walk-able but some will find far considering while coming back its uphill. Staff is decent, and outside look is also fair. Rooms are bad, small and the furniture was downright cheap. If you are looking for luxurious cosy room then this might not suit you. The linen & bedsheets seemed unchanged and dirty. The outside noise seeps in the room easily. However the basic things like intercom & hot water is OK. I find it overpriced compared to what the hotel offers, it is in no way premium and most suited as a decent budget hotel.
