Based on photographs available on net, we finalized satpura retreat for our panchmarhi holiday of 2 nights and the place was as beautiful as it appeared while surfing thorough its photographs. MP TOURISM's property has a very efficient and 'happy to serve' staff. We booked through mp tourism web site. Taxes are to be paid extra apart from the tariff mentioned on web site. The place is little aloof from mainstream areas so it'll be better if one has a personal vehicle. Absence of the same wont be a big deal either as staff is very co-operative. The resort has a lush green garden filled with almost all color flowers. Throughout the day, the garden will offer you sweet buzz from birds and watching lightning JUGNUS in dark is a treat to eyes. Small play area for kids is also there. Capturing serene morning of the resort is A MUST. Glimpse of dhoopgarh is available from garden area. Rooms are huge with equally huge bathroom and dressing area. TV set in the room seemed to be very old one but one will be hardly bothered to switch on the TV when the place has lot more interesting offerings out side room. We had booked standard AC room. Standard rooms of this resort are blocked and have no outside view, which is little negative side. Booking AC deluxe room is advisable, which is having view of garden. Food they offered was very tasty and homely - though the choices are very limited. Staff prepares the fresh food only once you give the order. So it is advisable to place your order in 1 hour advanced. Summing it up, it was a great stay in all aspects and a definite repeat for the next holiday.
Pachmarhi is an attractive hilly region situated in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is the only hill stoppage in the innermost part of the country. The best time to visit Pachmarhi is October to March for the pleasant and enjoyable weather as well. Travellers should visit this destination because of its mesmerizing scenic beauty. The waterfalls, the mountains are so beautiful. If you are a lover of nature, you will definitely like it. Places like silver falls, begum palace, apsara vihar, one more waterfall (I do not remember very well) are the supreme attractions. The safari is equally adventurous. I was dazed by the Jata Shankar caves. Handi khoh and Pandava caves were equally delightful. The place is famous for typical M. P sarees. You can shop a lot for antiques. If you go at summer you can satisfy your craving for mangoes. The entire day we travelled in a open gypsy and we had to walk aroung 2 to 2. 5 km to see the waterfall. Safari was breathtaking. Monsoons all through the July to September duration present temperate rainfall in Pachmarhi. The cascades and scenery gets drenched. Fog dangles in the atmosphere and cloudy climate lingers mostly. After the rainy season, the place turns out to be fully revitalized. That is why post monsoon times are incredibly fresh and gorgeous and caters the travelers as the best season to visit Pachmarhi. Pachmarhi is a perfect tourist destination for spending holidays even all through the winter period. Winters at Pachmarhi initiates from November and lasts up to February. Days remain freezing and frosty here. The nights generally experience a lowest temperature of 4°C.
The hotel was decorated for Diwali so the lanterns added to the charm of the hotel. We had read the reviews and hence chose this Hotel. The good points: It was a very clean hotel and all the ammenities of a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was excellent ,loved the fresh juices and luckily we were served breakfast by the poolside so an added bonus. Must add the best omelette and medu vada. The games room was very big but the games are chargeable The gym was excellent. We also got to see fireworks so it complimented the dinner. The downer was the room service menu, very limited but I guess it is a business hotel so it is practical to have a limited menu. My first visit but it exceeded my expectations with a courteous staff.
Best Experience: We would like to say regarding our staying is very comfort.Outstanding services provided by us in all department....ie.services,housekeeping and production as well.
Rooms are very clean. All types of bath accesseries are available and they are latest.Toiletries are adequete.Bedroom size is quite large, beding is large and very comfirt.Room amenities are adequete. All staffs are well trained and professtional.Resturant food was amazing.Wi-fi is available everywhere with very good speed..
Worst Experience: I was on a vacation and had checked-in to this hotel today and I should say the service at the front desk (Reception) has been pathetic. The guy sitting in the reception is so rude and did not have any sense of maintaining the Guest relationship. The hospitality is below average. I have never experienced such a horrible service in any of the Hotels that I stayed in the past, I am still fuming with the service that these guys rendered.
Never ever I would suggest anybody to have this Hotel as an option as you will only be spoiling your vacation staying here.
In summary, I would rate this hotel as one of the worst Hotels when it comes to their service to the visiting Guests. Very very poor management!
We visited Pachmarhi in October 15 and chose to stay at Champak Bungalow. It was a family vacation to explore the waterfalls and the pristine beauty of Pachmarhi and we are so glad we selected Champak Bungalow. The amenities are awesome. The rooms are large and spacious with huge and clean wash rooms. They offer a clean swimming pool and a mini gymnasium. The electric massage chair in the gym was a real comforter after a hard day's trek and activity. A well maintained garden area outside the dining area was soothing. The food was tasty and the service portions were generous. The staff served with a smile and were always prompt in handling requests and also provided detailed information to our queries regarding sightseeing etc. Worth the price and would love to stay there again. Just one thing that I would need to change would be the Rose scented room freshener. It was too strong. A slightly milder perfume would be great. Overall a great experience at the hotel and Pachmarhi with its waterfalls, treks, temples and sunsets.
Our overall experience was pretty good. Firstly, three of us planned to visit there, so we booked an Air-cooled cottage in Panchvati Huts & Cottages. The Panchvati cottages are a good place to stay at, clean and spacious, with quite reasonable cottage-rates. The surroundings were really beautiful, with a huge golf-course in front of it. It was actually very suitable for families. Six persons of same family can easily accommodate in the cottage. It had two separate bedrooms with double beds, TV in both the rooms, and two bathrooms. The surroundings were very much peaceful, as it was a bit distant from the marketplace. It’s an ideal place to run away from you daily life and stay peacefully for a few days. There was a restaurant also, with facility to sit in the balcony and have our meal, enjoying the surroundings. The food was also good. Although there were many monkeys around, but they didn’t cause us any harm. Another thing should be kept in mind, while visiting Panchmarhi, that no mobile signal is available there, except that of BSNL. (Airtel,Vodafon etc signals are available only at some selected locations, like Priyadrashini point, top of Pandava caves etc.) We stayed there for 3 nights. On the first day, we reached Pipariya station at around 11am, and then hired an Indica (Rs.350/- )to reach Panchmarhi. We had our lunch, and the manager arranged for a gypsy, so that we could start with some of the sight-seeings from that day only. We completed some of the points like, HAndi Kho, Priyadarshi Point, Mahadeo and Gupt Mahadeo. Next day we hired an Indica, and left for Bhimbetka and Sanchi at around 5:15am in the morning. After experiencing the pre-historic and thrilling rock-cave paintings at Bhimbetka and historic Stupa at Sanchi, we came back to Panchmarhi at around 1am in the night. It’s very good thing, that it is absolutely safe in this part of Madhya Pradesh. Even if you travel at night, you’ll not face any problems. Next day, we again started off for sight-seeings and we covered Jatashankar,Amba Bai Palace, Begum Palace, Bee falls, Rajendra Giri . On the last day, we went for the remaining sight-seeing points, and covered Apsara Vihar, Reechgarh, Dhoopgarh, Pandava caves, Bison Museum . Then we left for Pipariya station by an hired Indica. Overall, the trip was awesome….!!
Best Experience: As a I’ve already mentioned, the beautiful surroundings of the cottage made it ideal place to stay at, for the nature-lovers. One afternoon, I was just taking a stroll in the gardens, along the small path. In the nearby herbs, there were many beautiful butterflies hovering around. Two butterflies, one purple and one green, started flying around me, while I walked through the path. The sky was also a bit cloudy, and there was a dramatic lighting all around the sky. So, overall it was like a magical moment for me, just out of the dreams. That was one of the many moments, when I thought, I had made the right decision to stay at Panchvati !! :)
Worst Experience: There was no such “worst†experience, as such, while staying at Panchvati cottages. But one incident was such, where I felt it didn’t happen right. We stayed there for 3 nights. On the last day, we had to catch our train at 8:30PM from Pipariya station, so we were planning to leave Panchmarhi at around 5:30Pm, to be on the safer side. We arranged for an Indica which will start from the Panchvati Cottage at around 5:30pm and drop us at Pipariya station. But the hotel check-out time was at 12pm. So we decided to keep our luggage in the hotel, and go for the remaining sight-seeing spots in a gypsy. We talked to the manager (or probably he was a deputy-manager), and asked him whether we could enter our room or any other vacant room for around 15-20 mins just to change our dress and freshen up, when we come back from the sight-seeing at around 5pm. He assured us of the same, that we’ll surely get it. It was off-season also, as the National parks were all closed at that time in monsoons, and of course the maximum number of tourists come to visit the National parks in Madhya Pradesh. So, of course there were vacant rooms available. There were some due payments which we had to make before leaving the hotel (mainly for our meals and the remaining service tax). So, we decided to pay it in the afternoon, before leaving for Pipariya. After completing half of the sight-seeing, we came to the hotel again, to have lunch. After the lunch, the deputy-manager asked us to make the payment then only. That was not a problem from our side, and we did it. We again took assurance from him of getting a room for 15 mins, while we come back from the sight-seeing tour, and he nodded positively. But in the afternoon, when we came back to the hotel again, there was no one around. There was only one guard, who said that, no one has informed him to allocate us any room, and he said all the rooms were full (although we could see keys of vacant rooms hanging on the reception counter). Then we had to call up that deputy manager , but surprisingly he denied the fact, and we won’t be given any rooms. At last, after much argument, the deputy manager told the guard to give us a room for some time. The guard then opened a room for us, which was actually vacant (contradicting his earlier words), and he stood there right at the door, to keep a watchful eye on us, probably so that we do not take much time. After we were done, we left for Pipariya station.
Other than this small incident, our stay in Panchvati cottages was really peaceful.
