I visited Club Mahindra Kandaghat from 05 to 07 August 2016, along with my three friends. When we reached the resort, we were impressed by the maintenance of the lawns. Club Mahindra Kandaghat is perhaps one of the biggest resort of Club Mahindra spread over 15 acres of land, surrounded by mountains and lot of greenery. The resort is situated on the Kalka-Shimla Highway and is around 4 km from Kandaghat Railway Station. Even though it has 72 rooms, the CM Kandaghat should be one of the busiest resorts Club Mahindra has. We had difficulty in booking the rooms they were filling very fast. Therefore, we could not get a longer stay than 02 nights.
We had taken the morning Kalka Shatabdi from New Delhi up to Kalka (which reaches Kalka at 11:45 am), from there the Himalayan Queen, the connecting train, which had only non-AC seats, which leaves at 12:10 noon. From Platform No. 3, where we got down from Shatabdi Express to Platform No. 5, where Himalayan Queen train was waiting, had just a short walk of 5 minutes (or may be less). Out of five, four bogies were reserved bogies (38 seats in each bogie) and one unreserved bogie. The train took almost four hours to reach Kandaghat, as it was running slightly late. After the first hour, the journey became tiresome. From Kandaghat Railway Station to CM Kandaghat, which was around 4 km. We took a taxi and paid Rs. 200 (and the same amount was charged by CM Kandaghat Travel Desk for our return journey to Kandaghat Railway Station).
We were welcomed by a coloured drink made of some flower (do not remember the name of the flower) but it tasted good and had the fragrance of rose. The check-in was smooth and it took hardly a couple of minutes to complete the process (thanks to the beautifully dressed golden girl at the Reception). On our request we were given accommodation in the main building as three of us were senior citizens and the building had lifts.
The 1BR room (No. 1009) on Minus-2 floor was a huge room (50 x 15 ft. Approx. ), But did not have any balcony unlike we had in CM Binsar Villa. There was a window which gave a brief view of the mountains. The room was clean but we missed the Towel Art in the rooms (in CM Mussoorie and CM Gir, the CM staff had kept the towels on our beds in the shape of flowers or some bird). The bathroom had the facility of Bath tub (which we had not seen in CM Gir, CM Mussoorie and CM Binsar Villa) in addition to shower.
There were two restaurants, one, an a la carte restaurant Blossom and two, a restaurant providing buffet meal. However, we had opted for Room Service. Surprisingly we found the service to be a little slow compared to other CM Resorts we had visited. But the service staff was very cordial and helpful. We had also resorted to a restaurant near the entry gate of CM Kandaghat, but we were a disappointed.
The fun zone had lots of activities especially for kids. Table tennis, chess, carom, etc. And a lot of art activities for kids like painting. CM Kandaghat had a variety of other activities for guests like Tambola, singing and dancing, DJ, Movies, and so on. There was a fountain with an open air bar which was not working when we had gone there. The lush green manicured lawns and the fountains added to the beauty of the CM Kandaghat. The lighting arrangements of the lawns and the buildings also added to its beauty. If CM Kandaghat provides a gym, it will be an added attraction.
Since we did not have much time, we had gone to Mohan Shakti National Heritage Park, situated at a distance of 16 kms off Kandaghat-Solan road. The taxi took us Rs. 800/-. Though the Park had started only recently and only the temple is open for public, the visit was worth. The Park proposes to expand in the years to come, with a Yoga Centre in the caves across the hill and a university too with ropeway access. If you have time, you can also visit Chail (29 and/ or Shimla (30 for sightseeing.
Overall, it was a memorable experience with weather supporting us. Would like to visit again, this time with family.
The resort is the quintessential British Raj property. With an eclectic mix of antique items, furniture and paintings it will surely transport you back to the British era. It is beautifully located among the pines, away from the noise of the city. One can immerse in the tranquillity of the forest from the open grassy lawn area.
Rooms are immaculately clean with basic amenities. The staff is courteous and graceful. Pick and drop facility is also provided by the management. The resort also boasts of numerous films shot here. Book lovers can indulge in the leather library and for the sports enthusiasts air rifle shooting is also available. Food served is a definitive plus point. A special thanks to the general manager for his impeccable hospitality Mr. Vinod Rajput a laconic, thoughtful man. A sterling team of management. If you need a relaxing stay with a royal touch.. This is a place for you.
Amenities are much many. Two beds with separate bathroom. Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV and DVD players. All room are Air-Condition. Telephone and fax was available. Complimentary breakfast was provided. Cold and hot coffee and mini bars. Outdoor pool and a gym. 24 hour room service. 24/7 hot and cold running water. Complimentary toiletries. 24 hours front desk and concierge service. Food of your choice.
Laundry and dry cleaning services. Off road parking. Doctor on call. The seen near of the hotel is also great because of Hills. Staff were very polite and they behave like a friends and family member. Both female and male staff are available. There service are valuable. Advice to travellers : They should stay in "Radisson Jass Hotel " Luxury Hotels. If they comes in Radisson Jass Hotel Luxury Hotels, it's my suggestion to all. If there in another hotel than set priority. You will be always satisfied.
Last year I have stayed in this hotel. This hotel is worth of money. This hotel is totally awesome. This hotel is among one of the famous hotels in Shimla. I have stayed in this hotel with my parents when we come Shimla for a trip. This hotel is situated on a very good place. The environment around this hotel is really nice. The hotel appears really great. Their is everywhere fresh air is available. Many types of food items are available here. I and my parents were sleeping on a really comfortable bed with its most comfortable mattresses. The television set is very nice LCD and situated at the place where it should be. The room was really awesome with its brilliant design. AC was also very powerful. The bathroom was also really neat and clean. Food that we ate was really fantastic. The front office looks great and the staff here are helpful and take their duty properly. None was rude to me. No one was doing anything wrong. Every staff was very nice and he/she come with a single word to call with and was handling our requests in time. So the service of this hotel is really very good. The scene of seeing the outside world from the window of our room was absolutely awesome. Everything which is required to the guests were supplied to us. We did not felt any difficulty in staying in this hotel. There is a famous restaurant right next door to it The Taj restaurant. This is famous for it's food which is hygienic and also the cost is far less. Also there is a big cinema house where you enjoy movies at a lower cost. There is also a park at back of the hotel. So it was a very happy trip for me with my parents. So We really enjoyed our trip. Hence I would like to advice the other travellers to at least visit this hotel for one time and enjoy the services of this hotel. You will definitely not feel any difficulty and this hotel will make your trip awesome.
I had gone to Shimla with my family this summer to enjoy in the lap of the hills. We checked-in the Toshali Royal View Hotel. We stayed there for a week. My experience there is simply amazing which I would like to share with everyone. It is located on the serene region of the Shilon Bagh on the Kufri-Chail Road in the lap of the snow clad mountains with lush greenery all around that makes it a perfect snow green destination for a wonderful vacation.
We booked a spacious room with cosy bedding and complimentary services which include Cable/Satellite TV, tea and coffee maker, glassware, private bathroom, two-line phone, dining, sofa set. It felt like home to us. The cable TV had all channels even the regional ones. The sofa and the bed were comfortable. As we know it feels like winter there even in summer, we were provided with luxurious mattresses and blankets. The attitude of the staff towards us was very polite. The house keeping services were great. We were ensured that we would be given full luxury and comfort. The food was great. Everyone liked the prawn special of the kitchen which the waiter recommended. The location of the hotel was also perfect as it was close to Kufri. There were also indoor games to play like Billiards. The water was clean in the pool which was indeed large ad everyone enjoyed.
Overall, I can say this is a very good hotel in a very affordable price!
