| Futaisi Island |
|
Futaisi Island is a historical island owned privately by Sheik Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. This place dates back hundreds of years. This island is located just three miles from Abu Dhabi. Archaeological findings show evidence to prove that material for building forts, along with the sweet water for the city's inhabitants, were supplied from here.
This island houses the original Arabian Fort, which was made using traditional mud bricks. Futaisi Island is a popular tourist attraction due to its rich history and the presence of wild life and marine life. The island is not that crowded because the surrounding shallow waters make it difficult to reach this place on a boat.
