Buses are available from Bangkok’s Northern Bus Terminal to Ayutthaya every 20 minutes. It takes around two hours to travel to Ayutthaya by first class air-conditioned bus that cost around 50 Baht.
The Northern Bus Terminal may be reached by a 15 minute bus trip from Moh Chit BTS Station.
Buses operate between Northern Bus Terminal in Bangkok and Ayutthaya central BKS Bus Terminal. The Ayutthaya central BKS Bus Terminal is located south of Thanon Naresuan near the Chao Phrom Market. Air-conditioned buses to Bangkok leave from the other side of the canal towards the north west of the road.
One may also avail buses that leave from Kanchanaburi to reach Suphanburi and make a break journey to Ayutthaya. There is also a central bus station to the east of the town for travelling to northern destinations.
Operators like Direct air offer air-conditioned and non air-conditioned buses between Bangkok and Ayutthaya. Starting at 05.30 in the morning, buses leave every half an hour from the bus terminal till 07.20 in the evening.
There are also minibus services to Ayutthaya. The minibuses operate from 6 am to 8 pm and leave every 20 minutes from the Victory Monument in Bangkok. The bus stop is at Ayutthaya’s prominent landmark, Chao Phrom Market.
One can also avail the minivans from the Victory Monument heading to Ayutthaya. The journey takes one hour and costs 100 Baht. The minivans operate from 4:30 am to 7.15 pm and depart every 20 minutes.
