Bangkok has an efficient rail service. Trains operate to and from important locations like the Hualamphong Train Station, the Thonburi Train Station and the Bang Sue Train Station. Train service is both cheap and fast as trains are available at frequent intervals.
There are two “third class” trains that depart from Thonburi at 7:45 am and 1:55 pm, daily. There are two trains departing from Nam Tok at 5:20 am and 12:50 pm. The weekend-only second-class air-conditioned "tourist" trains to Kanchanaburi and Nam Tok depart from Hualamphong Train Station.
Located between the Old City and downtown Bangkok, the Hualamphong Train Station is the main station in Bangkok. It is the western terminus of Bangkok’s MRT line.
Other stations in Bangkok are the Bang Sue Train Station, Thonburi Train Station, which serve as the terminus for twice-daily trains to Kanchanaburi and the Wong Wien Yai Train Station that caters only to the rustic Mae Klong commuter line to the fishing village of Maha Chai.
Trains from the Wong Wien Yai Train Station run roughly every hour and the trip takes about one hour.
