Buses
Basler Verkehrsbetriebe (BVB) runs green-coloured buses in the city. Baselland Transport (BLT) operates yellow-coloured buses in the city linking central Basel with Baselland. The frequency of buses is 6 to 7 minutes during peak hours. The operating hours of buses in the city is from 5 am till 11:30 pm.
Between Euroairport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg and Basel SBB railway station, buses run at an interval of 20 to 30 minutes. The travelling time by these buses is 15 minutes, and the cost of the trip is $3.32. For a short trip, buses charge $2.25. The cost of a one zone ticket is $3.56. For travelling within two zones by buses, the cost is $ 4.51.
For travelling in an economic way in the city, tourists can avail a one day pass, which costs $9.51. A three day pass costs $29.71. In addition to these, tourists can also opt for Mobility Pass, 6-Trip One Zone Multi-Ticket (Mehrfahrtenkarte) and Halbtax-Abo.
Taxis
The main taxi companies operating in the city include Taxi Zentrale AG, 33er taxi AG and Taxiphon-Genossenschaft Basel. Since shopping streets in the Old Town are closed to car traffic, taxis enable tourists to travel within only limited sections of the city.

Trams
Operated by two transport operators, namely Basler Verkehrsbetriebe (German for Basel Transport Service, BVB) and Baselland Transport, trams form an extensive transportation network in the city. Basler Verkehrsbetriebe (BVB) runs the green-coloured trams in the city.
Trams run by Baselland Transport (BLT) connect central Basel to Baselland. These yellow-coloured trams, or streetcars run from 5 am till 11:30 pm. During peak hours, their frequency is 6 to 7 minutes. Late in the evening, the frequency of trams is 15 minutes.
Routes run by BVB operate in the Basel-Stadt, and the small canton containing the inner city. Terminus 3 and 6 are located in the rural canton of Baselland. Lines 10, 11, and 17 operate in the outer suburbs to the south of Basel.

Trains
S-Bahn-style rail service connecting the Basel metropolitan area has been provided by Basel Regional S-Bahn. This service links the city with various destinations in Switzerland, Germany and France. Out of the five suburban train lines of this network, two operate across borders.
Swiss Federal Railways, its German subsidiary SBB GmbH and the French TER Alsace operate the S-Bahn, in partnership with Deutsche Bahn. Line S1 runs from Mulhouse till Laufenburg. Porrentruy and Olten are linked by line S3, while line S5 links Weil am Rhein with Steinen. Line S6 links the city with Zell im Wiesental, while line S9 connects Sissach with Olten.
Others
From Schifflande, near the Grossbasel end of Mittlere Brucke, tourists can board the boats to cross the River Rhine. Fahri boats enable tourists to cross the River Rhine. In summer months, ferries operate between 9 am to 7 pm. The four ferries operate between 11 am and 5 pm, during winter months.
Since shopping streets in the Old Town are closed to car traffic, walking is ideal for exploring this part of Basel. From the bike rental agencies that operate between 7 am till 9 pm, tourists can rent bicycles to explore the destination. Bike rental agencies are located at Centralbahnplatz, near Basel SBB Railway Station. Motorcycles can also be rented to explore the destination.
