Batad village, which is located at the foot of the Ifugao rice terraces, is popular for enjoying varied activities, including trekking, swimming and walking.

To visit the Batad Rice Terraces, one can trek along steep routes and winding paths. The stone walled terraces offer some of the most difficult hikes. Since the paths are tricky, it is better to hire a guide during the hike.  

To reach Batad, one needs to hike from the Saddle Point. To visit Tappia Falls, one needs to trek for an hour from the Batad Rice Terraces. Moreover, from the Batad Rice Terraces, one can also undertake a long hike to the Batad village. Enthusiasts can also trek from Batad to reach Cambulo. Tourists can also trek from Batad to reach the remote village of Pat-yay.

Tappia Falls is a 70 metre high waterfall. The water of the fall cascades into a natural bathing pool underneath. The region near the waterfall also provides an ideal spot for family picnics.

To get an insight into the lifestyle of the Ifugao people, one can stroll through the small village. Walking on the rice terraces and interacting with the farmers of Batad is another popular activity in the destination. During the interaction with the farmers, tourists can also learn about the techniques of planting and harvesting of rice.
