Swimming

By hiking from the Batad Rice Terraces for almost an hour, one can reach the Tappia Falls. The hike through the narrow trails attracts adventure lovers visiting Batad.

It is a 70 metre high waterfall having a wide swimming area of natural pool. The waterfall is located beyond the main Batad village, over a ridge and down the valley.

The area around the falls is surrounded by mountains. The gushing water cascades into a natural bathing pool below. One can swim in the near freezing water of the waterfall. Since the force of the water is immense, it is better to cling on to the rocks during the swim. Alongside the falls, a small hut is located. From the hut, one can purchase snacks and drinks.
