Buses are the only public transport available in Batam.
There are licensed as well as unlicensed taxis plying in Batam and most don’t have meters. Taxi fares can range from Rp. 20.000 to Rp. 75.000 depending on the distance.
There are no metro or services in Batam.
One can also take a lift from the Ojak motorcyclists from anywhere in the city. The standard charge is Rp 5.000 per trip but varies depending on the distance travelled.
