Tours and excursions are one of the best ways to explore this beautiful country with diverse topography, culture and wildlife. Cultural tours are one of the most popular in Bhutan. These tours include visit to the old forts, monasteries, palaces, farm houses and museums. Cultural tours in the country include visits to several places such as Thimphu, Paro Valley, Punakha, Bumthang, Mongar, Tongsa and Wangduephodrang.

Ta Dzong (National Museum) and Taksang Monastery are the two most popular places in the Paro Valley. Those visiting Thimphu can go to places like Tashichhodzong, weekend market and central post office.

Other places of interest in this city include a visit to the Memorial Chorten and the traditional painting school where age-old styles of Bhutanese paintings are showcased as well as taught.

Tourists visiting Bhutan can also opt for different themed tours, such as Bhutan historical tours and Bhutan religious tours. Bhutan historical tour is nine days tour in which one gets to view the Himalayan Mountains. Mostly, tourists are taken to Gangkhar Puensum and Jumolhari, which are respectively the highest and the second highest peaks in Bhutan.

The tour starts from Paro, where tourists are taken to Taktsang Monastery, then to Thimphu where they can indulge in sightseeing. Next, there is a drive from Thimphu to Punakha, then to Gangtey and Trongsa. The next halt is Bumthang where passengers are taken to Jakar Dzong, Jambay Lkhakhang and Lamey Goemba. Thereafter, tourists explore Trongsa, Bumthang and finally back to Thimphu.

On the other hand, the Bhutan religious tour is a 12 day tour, which includes visit to almost all religious places located in different cities of Bhutan. Some of the places which include all the tourist itineraries are Mt. Jumolhari (Mountain of Goddess), Kyichu Lhakhang, Taktsang, Memorial Chorten and Trongsa Dzong.

Trekking tours are one of the other tours organised in the country that include Bumthang Cultural Trek, Bumthang Owl Trek and Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek. In addition, trekking to the Duer Hot Spring, Gasa Hot Spring, Jomolhari, Punakha and Rodung La are also popular.

One of the most popular tours is the Across Bhutan Tour, which is a multi-day tour, spread over 16 days and covers all the major cities and sightseeing places in Bhutan.

  Trip to Bhutan in December
Hi, I plan to go to Bhutan in this December. But I am little confuse with the weather of the Bhutan in these days. Bhutan means I specially want to know about the Paro and Thimpu. In MSN, I see that temperature will be -3 degree C in Paro. So if anyone tell me about the weather of the Bhutan during this month, then it will be helpful for me.
