In order to reach Boracay, one needs to travel to Manila from India by plane. After reaching Manila, travellers can reach Boracay in an hour via air. One can easily reach Manila from major Indian cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. Moreover, Thiruvananthapuram, Goa, Tiruchirapally, Gaya, Amritsar, Varanasi, Kozhikode,Coimbatore and Kochi are also connected to Manila by flights.
Qantas, Philippine Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Malaysia Airlines and Etihad Airways fly regularly from India to Manila. Other than these, Emirates, Jet Airways, Kingfisher, Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines also fly between these destinations.
The gateway to Boracay is the nearby airports, Caticlan or Godofredo P. Ramos Airport and Kalibo International Airport (KLO). Only propeller planes can land on the Caticlan airport, as the runway is short; while bigger planes land on KLO.
Flights of Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air, Air Philippines and South East Asian Airlines land on Caticlan. Flights of Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air and Zest Airways also frequently travel to Kalibo.
There are no direct flights to Boracay, as there is no international airport in the island. However, one can take a direct flight to Manila and then reach Boracay via air, bus or boat. Caticlan or Godofredo P. Ramos Airport is the domestic airport that is nearest from the island.
South East Asian Airlines (SEAIR), Philippine Airlines (PAL), Cebu Pacific Air and Air Philippines are the airlines that fly from Caticlan. Travellers, can either walk for 10 minutes or rent a tricycle for 41.13 INR to reach Caticlan Jetty Port.
Kalibo International Airport (KLO) is another airport located near Boracay. Night landing facilities and longer runway makes this airport suitable for bigger planes. Travellers can either fly late in the evening or early morning from this airport that is around 90 minutes from Caticlan Jetty Port.
Zest Airways, Cebu Pacific Air and Philippine Airlines fly from this airport. One can hire a bus, minivan, coaster or vans to reach Caticlan Jetty Port from this airport.
The travelling time between Caticlan and Kalibo International Airpor through land route is 90 minutes.
There are outrigger boats or 'Bancas' that travellers can take from the Caticlan jetty port to reach Boracay. These run every few minutes. Tricycles, buses, vans, coasters and minivans can also be hired to travel to any destination within the island from airport. Apart from that, one can take a ferry as well.
