| Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary |
|
The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary with a population of over 130 koala bears is the first and largest of its kind in the world. Formed in 1927, it also shelters a number of other Australian wildlife species like kangaroos and platypuses in a natural ambience. There is a dining facility in the covered courtyard. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary can be reached by taking a bus from Brisbane or the South Bank boat cruise of Mirimar.
There is also the “bird of prey show” presenting the soaring of the great eagles. The platypus swimming auditorium with its six underwater cameras is the latest attraction of the sanctuary.
