A number of activities keep happening at the beaches. One of the most popular of these is the Polar Bear Swimming Competition which is one of the festivals during the Lunar year. Other competitions in and around the beaches here include the Haeundae White Sand Races, Haeundae Ocean Swimming Contest and the Ice Carving Competition. It costs W40,000 and only 2,000 people are allowed to compete.
