The buses arrive at the Trinity Wharf, which is within walking distance to the city centre. Bus services like Premier and Greyhound operates between Brisbane and Cairns. The journey from Cairns to Brisbane takes around 27 to 29 hours.
An airport shuttle service is available from Cairns Airport to El Arish but the booking needs to be done in advance. The journey from the Cairns Airport to El Arish costs around $37 and the cost from the city to the Airport takes around $32.
The private coach operator - Country Road Coachlines operate luxury coaches from Cairns to Cooktown that provides both Inland and Coastal services. The Coastal service operates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and departs from Cooktown at 2:30 pm. The Inland service operates on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and departs from Cooktown at 7:30 am.
Weekly buses are also operated by Greyhound bus services that ply on four routes. The routes are Brisbane to Cairns, Cairns to Byron Bay, Cairns to Sydney and Cairns to Alice Springs. The service also provides discount passes to the visitors that stay valid for six months.
