| Cairo Tower |

Cairo Tower, an outstanding attraction of modern Cairo, was built during 1956 to 1961. Standing in the Zamalek district of Gezira Island, this concrete tower is the tallest building in Egypt. 43 metres taller than the Great Pyramids, this tower is around 180 metres high. Inspired by Egyptian history, this tower is designed in the form of a lotus flower, along with papyrus.
At the top of the tower are a revolving restaurant and a cafeteria. It also has a public viewing deck, from where tourists can get a panoramic view of the city. During night, the tower changes colour due to the special LED lighting effects.
