Indian citizens planning to visit Dubai require visa prior to their arrival. All the necessary information can be obtained from the nearest UAE embassy. Additionally, the Dubai Naturalisation & Residency Administration Department (DNRD) also offers all the latest information.
The type of visa depends on different factors, like nationality, purpose for visiting UAE and the duration of stay. Depending on the factors, visitors can get Non-Renewable 30-Day Visa, One Entry Visa, Entry Service Permit, Visit Visa, Tourist Visa, Multiple-Entry Visa, and 96-Hour Transit Visa. Visitors who overstay their visa, have to pay a penalty of 1,229.59 INR.
Nationals of certain countries, like citizens of GCC states, do not require visa while visiting Dubai. Visa regulations can change from time to time and it is advisable to contact the regional UAE embassy or consulate for the latest information.
For entering the emirate, there is no visa requirement for nationals of United States of America, United Kingdom, Switzerland, New Zealand, Portugal, San Marino, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, France and Germany. Citizens of Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Holand, and Japan, also do not require visa.
There is no need of UAE visa for nationals of Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and Vatican. Citizens of these countries along with those having Hong Kong SAR passport are given UAE One Entry Visit visa-on-arrival, free of charge.
Nationals of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia all of which are member states of the Arab Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) do not need UAE visa. The Arab GCC expatriate residents can get a non-renewable 30 day visa upon arrival on meeting certain conditions. These expatriate residents are allowed entry only through the approved ports of entry.
For getting the visa, applicants can contact the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates. The visa is issued by the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD). It is generally issued within 72 hours.
Applicants need a valid passport, 2 photographs, application form, and letter or fax from the sponsor in the UAE to the embassy. Additionally, a letter from the applicant's company along with a photocopy is also required. One also needs to submit visa fees, which vary depending upon the type of visa.
