Dubai is located on the coastal strip and experiences a hot climate. During summers, the hottest days are usually dry and the somewhat cooler days tend to get humid. The weather is somewhat pleasant between September and the beginning of May, and is the best time to visit. However, the nights are cold.
The daily temperature in the months of October to January and March to May ranges between 20° C - 25° C during the day and varies between 10° C - 16°C during the night.
During May to September, the temperature in the city may soar up to 45° C and higher in the desert area. During the daylight hours in summer, outdoor activities are avoided due to 60% - 70% humidity near the coast and excessive heat.
Precipitation is highest between December to April at 10 cm. Not more than few minutes of shower takes place during some years, though temperature remains low. Dubai experienced up to 50 cm of record rain in November 2006.
