The Accademia Gallery is known in Florence for the great sculptures crafted by Michelangelo and for David's statue. Statues of Prisoners and St. Matthew are some of the main highlights of the gallery. Further, art works belonging to the Academy of Design and the Academy of Fine Arts made in the 19th century are also displayed here.
Visitors can check out the plaster sculptures made by Lorenzo Bartolini and Luigi Pampalon. Plaster models of Giovanni di Milano, the Orcagna brothers and Taddeo Gaddi can also be an added attraction for visitors. Traditional musical instruments of the Cherubini Conservatory have been added to the possessions of the gallery.
