| Bensusan Museum of Photography |
|
The Bensusan Museum of Photography is located in Johannesburg. It houses numerous rare and valuable photographic equipment of modern history which include items like Daguerre Camera that was bought by an Englishman, WH Fox Talbot, in the year 1839.
This camera was built in the same year when the invention of photography was announced to the world. The museum showcases evolution of photography, along with the obstacles faced during its course of development.
The museum also has numerous pictures and photographs, right from the earliest wet plate prints to ultra-modern 3D experimental pictures. Interactive toys have also been placed within the premises.
Dark rooms and multimedia shows are arranged for visitors to give them information regarding the basic principles of light and optics, besides photography.
Timing: 9 am – 5 pm (Tuesday - Sunday)
