The Giant Buddha is the world's largest seated, outdoor bronze Buddha statue.
The Giant Buddha statue is situated atop the Ngong Ping plateau. Unveiled in December 1993, the figure was cast in China and took 12 years to complete. Visitors need to climb about 200 steps to reach the platform where the Buddha remains seated.
The Po Lin monastery is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site. It can be reached by taking the mass transit railway to Tung Chung Station Exit B and then by cable car.
