Though taxis are rare, some metred taxis are available. Passenger trucks run through certain routes and the routes are colour coded. The fare is negotiated before the service.
The fare is lower in the fixed route Songthaew than those which stop more frequently. Chartered passenger trucks can also be availed while it is also possible to hire motorbikes or bicycles.
The tricycle, Salmor, is popular for short distances while motor driven tuk-tuk is used as a substitution for a taxi in Hua Hin. Trips in Songtaews can be bargained for and these are easily available.
