Travelling to Indonesia

Tourists planning to travel to Indonesia can apply for different types of visa depending on the purpose of visit, duration of visit and other factors. Travellers visiting Indonesia can apply for Transit Visa, Single Visit Visa, Limited Visit Visa, Multiple Visit Visa or Visa on Arrival.

According to the Indonesian Government, nationals of 63 countries can obtain visa on arrival from the designated airports and sea ports. Visa on arrival is valid for a period of 30 days, which can be extended for another 30 days by applying at the Immigration Office in Indonesia. On reaching the airport, tourists have to pay a departure tax of $17.

Indian nationals planning to visit Indonesia can obtain visa on arrival at any of the 20 international airports, 18 seaports or 1 border post, located in different parts of Indonesia. Tourists have to pay $25 for the visa. Visa on arrival cannot be converted into any other type of visa.

Documents required
For obtaining the visa, a passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of arrival in Indonesia and confirmed return ticket are required.
 
After arriving at the airport, passengers with Visa on Arrival status need to visit the Visa on Arrival counter, in order to pay the fees and to get the Visa on Arrival sticker on their passport. All this needs to be done before proceeding to the Immigration Clearance Desk. Payment can be made in all the major currencies or through credit cards like MasterCard or Visa.
