The traditional Padang restaurants and Javanese Warteg are popular dishes. One can also find foods from different countries like Korea, India, China, America, France and others being served in many restaurants.

One very popular local dish of Jakarta is Soto Betawi which is a coconut milk or cow milk broth with beef tendons and  intestines. The other popular dishes are gado-gado, kerak telor, sate and kue cucur.

The Jalan Thamrin Street has popular eating joints and tourists can also find many food stalls in Kemang located in South of Jakarta. The Kemang area offers food from all over the world including French, Italian and Mexican to name a few.
