The Hallasan National Park is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mount Hallasan, also called Mt.Yeongjusan, is situated in the middle of Jeju Island.
It was declared a National Park in 1970. There are small peaks around the mountain known as Oreums.
The mountain has a dense variety of plants and trees. It is well known for its ecosystem. It has 1,800 kinds of plants and 4,000 species of animals. The mountain also offers trekking opportunities.
