Buses in Jejudo are operated by private operators. Buses run at regular intervals, usually at a gap of 15-20 minutes. One can travel by bus to most of the tourist attractions of the region.
The approximate fare for a bus journey is W4,000 for a distance of 10-12 km. Bus stands are there outside most of the tourist attractions as well five star hotels.
Trolley buses are another option to travel within the island. Trolley buses are meant for tourists and they take on around various sightseeing spots of the island.
Standard taxis as well as deluxe taxis run in Jejudo island. One can find a taxi outside the airport, bus terminal and most major tourist attractions. One can also arrange a taxi on call.
The approximate fare for standard taxis is W2,000 for the first two kilometres and it increases by W1,00 for every 200 metres.
Deluxe taxis can be distinguished from standard ones as they are black in colour. Deluxe taxis have English speaking drivers and some of them even have free interpretation service.
One can call up an interpreter who then translates English into Korean for the driver. Deluxe taxis do not charge a surcharge of 20% during night time, unlike the standard taxis.
Biking is another option for travelling within the island. There are many companies which offer bicycles on rent.
Ferry services are available to the various neighbouring islands from Jejudo, which runs frequently through the day from the capital city of Jeju-si.
