Hejaz Railway was running twice-weekly trains from Damascus (Syria) to Amman. Amman's Mahatta junction is located northeast of the downtown area, close to Marka Airport. However, the service has been suspended since mid-2006 due to damage to the tracks. No other passenger trains operate in Jordan.
